Lately I've been in that lovely honeymoon stage of pregnancy where all I can think about is what my next meal will consist of! Does anyone have any suggestions for some healthy, nutrient-rich snacks? Especially ones that are quick to prepare. :)

    THANKS!

Peanut butter!!! Mmmm. . .I eat it on everything from waffles to celery to just a spoonful at a time. Cheese is also a good snack, but my all time favorite is ice cream. My ob said the full fat stuff is better calorie wise, so I took that as her endorsement that Ben and Jerry's is "healthy"!!

I also do alot of "pita pizzas". I take a whole wheat pita, spread on some pizza or spagetti sauce, add some cheese and maybe some veggies (usually mushrooms, spinach if I have it around) and bake. It's got whole grain, veggies, calcium, and some fat and protein from the cheese.

    Now I'm hungry!

I'm still in that stage I had hopes it would end ;) . If I don't eat about every 2 hours during the day I'm getting sick. I eat granola bars, peanut butter sandwichs and yogurt's. When I buy my fruit and veggies, anything that needs prep work to eat it, I do the prep work when before I put it away. Like cutting up the peppers, to taking all the grapes off the vine. It makes it so much easier to grap a bag of those instead of something else.

I'm right there with you on being a bottomless pit!!
I feel like eating and making food is my new full time job :)

    These are my new standbys:
    Apples with peanut butter
    Cottage cheese with blueberries
Whole grain toast with peanut butter
Fruit shake-yogurt, milk, walnuts, frozen berries, banana
    Guacamole
    Milk with instant breakfast

Here are a few from my Eating Expectantly book:
    dried fruit
    raw vegetables
    nuts
    health valley granola bars
    rice cakes
    popcorn
    fig newtons
tortilla rolled up with ham and cheese
    yogurt with granola
    tortilla chips and beans
    tomato and cheese sandwich (toasted/grilled)
    deviled eggs
    quesadilla with mushrooms, tomato, cheese
    frozen yogurt with fresh fruit

The other ones didn't sound so good!!

I'll go make myself a pita pizza, some sliced bell peppers and one of everything on Jenanne's list! Great ideas, ladies! Keep 'em coming!

that pita pizza sounds great! didn't even think of that one!

and i take Luna Bars with me everywhere. they are really good, and have all sorts of vitamins, and 100% folic acid!
also, i make a milkshake with peanut butter or with banana, so at least i'm getting SOMETHING out of it (besides a sugar rush!)

Enjoy eating. I am at the stage where I have to make myself eat. I am never hungry. I do make sure I drink my water though.

Donuts is how I filled that bottomless pit with my twins...lol!!! Hmmm...maybe that's why I gained 65 lbs. :) LOL!!! I felt like I had tape worms instead of babies for the ENTIRE 34 weeks I was pregnant with them. Man, I was constantly hungry! I had no nausea or m/s to slow me down!

I dont have any suggestions for snacks that are any different to anyone elses but I wanted to add that I was just thinking about having breakfast and thought to myself 'I dont even want to start eating today! I am becoming a bottomless pit.' LOL Then I jump on the site and you have said the exact same thing!!! heheehe
I want the babies to be healthy but I am worried that all the eating I do is just me being over indulgent!! and that they dont really need all that food!!!
I have a weakness for biscuits and because I am home all day I am grazing the whole time!!!
Worried the babies are not getting fat - Just ME!!! Glad to know I am not alone. :)

Hahaha! I have a weakness for biscuits, too! I've limited myself to sunday morning only because I was having them EVERY DAY! I gained 70 lbs. with my singleton pregnancy, so this time I'm trying to be much more careful. I took off all that weight - and it was HARD WORK!
