So my girls are due in December and I'm not kidding myself thinking I can buy a whole bottle system now and that they'll love it, let alone have both of them love it. I'm wanting to buy a couple different types of the smaller bottles to test out and then I'll complete the bottle system when we figure out which ones work best, but I'm looking for opinions on which ones to test out. Right now, I'm toying around with Dr. Brown's, Avent and Playtex. Any advice/opinions would be greatly welcomed!

    Thanks.

We had all kinds of different bottles in the beginning but tossed them all when the news came out about most of them containing BPA. After that we stuck to Born Free and the MAM bottles neither of which contain BPA. Both of them are fine.

We have always used Dr. Brown's. We tried the playtex ventair ones but for some reason our girls managed to make a pretty big mess with them. I did like though that the ventair bottles are not as bulky as dr. brown's. The dr. brown's bottles have a lot of extra room at the top and it makes the whole bottle bigger. I don't know if it's because the have to suck differently for dr. brown's or what, but we have had a good experience with dr. brown's. The only disadvantage is there are so many extra parts to clean. If you have a dishwasher you need to invest in a basket to hold the valves and everything (we got one at walmart for like 3 bucks).

We use playtex dropins, Dr. browns glass bottles and Born Free. Love them all. The playtex are the easiest for clean up and washing. But the other two are good for reflux and spitting up.

We started with the Playtex drop ins and had some issues when we had to add cereal for reflux. So I switched to the Dr. Browns to help with the reflux and because they had a variable flow nipple that would help with the cereal in the bottle. They worked great.

We tried 5 different bottles in the beginning. Gracie liked one and Claire liked another. This went on for a few days, until they both settled on the Dr. Brown's.

We are now going through the same thing with sippy cups. I think I have 8 different kinds in the house.

It is all about what your babies like.

I've spent $100's of dollars on bottles. I have used about 5 different types, Playtex drop-ins, Dr Browns, Avent, Born Free, and glass bottles. I ended up using Parents Choice BPA free bottles. They only cost $3.00 at Walmart, I was able to buy tons for cheap so I don't always have to do dishes. And they are light enough so the babies can hold them up themselves. I can also use those nipples and bottles with the Podee system.

I know, it's overwhelming! I LOVE the Born Free plastic bottles (known for being the first BPA-free ones). The vent helps cut down on taking in too much air. We've had a great experience with these:)

We have had great experiences with Dr. Brown's plastic bottles...both girls were very gassy before and colicky, and i noticed a great change when we started the Dr. Browns.

the ventaire ones leaked for us, the drop-ins for some reason they cant get to work. they suck and nothing comes out. we like dr browns, and it really does help with gas. i ran out of clean 1s so gave DD a plain "regular" bottle and ive never heard her belch so loud in my life lol

I am in the same boat - trying to decide. We're registering for the Playtex Drop-ins, since they look easy to clean and limit air bubbles, and I can't really see paying $10 for a bottle for the other options! My mom said that when we were little there was only 1 type of bottle and we all did fine. It's nice to have options, but sometimes there are just too many choices!

i dont recommend the platex vent aire they started leaking after like a week...... We also ended up switching to the 3.00 bpa free bottles and they are doing great on those.

I did Dr Brown first, then switched to Born Free because of the whole BPA thing. BPA aside, I like born free much better. The parts take less room in the dishwasher, and they're easier to hold and put formula in. My babies had no problem with either.

I love the playtex drop ins. I used the parent's choice liners until the babies began drinking a full 8 oz, which is just recently. My DS is a big eater! I love the fact that they are easy to clean, and the inexpensive liners work just as well as the brand name. They have slow flow nipples which were great, cause I was also breastfeeding. I love that all I have to do is wash them quickly with a dish rag, when I do dishes, add a liner and I am done. I don't have to have special bottle brushes or wash them in the dishwasher. So much less of a hassle. When the other bottles begin getting cloudy or scratched you are suppose to throw them away, because the chemicals from the plastic can leak into your milk. I don't have to worry about that either!

Started with Dr. Browns which were great until I couldn't take cleaning all the parts anymore. Switched to Gerber Comfortholds and didn't look back. For this baby, I'm going to try her with the Gerbert Comfortholds from the get go.

We used Avent for Conner, but I threw them all out for any future babies due to the BPA. With Aiden, he couldn't handle the Avent with his weak suck, so he loved the NUK brand. I thought both were easy to use & clean. Not sure what we'll use next go 'round.....
