We are currently trying to decide which bottles to buy. We wanted the new Avent bpa free bottles (I called an avent rep who said they will be available August 1, but on amazon.com they list the release date as Oct 1 which is too late) so if they do not come out in time we are planning on either going with the sassy mam bottles or born free. Just wondering if anyone has experience with either of these?
We do not want to use drop-ins.

just an FYI, the Playtex "Original" nursers with the bags or dropins are also BPA free. I have used those for all of my kids. The Premiere ones (with the hourglass shape) are not BPA free.

We use the Born free and love them. They worked great for my last baby, the only thing is they are a bit pricey. If you call the company directly they offer a twins discount of 20% when you order directly from them. You do have the s/h charges though so I don't know how well the discount works out. Target and BRU both carry them now. The MAM bottles are not as easy to find and I don't like the screw off bottoms. We purchased 2 to try out and I gave them away because they were just strange. BRU was exchanging any type of sippy cup or bottle that they sell in store for BPA free brands. I also use the playtex drop ins because it was a bit expensive with the Born free to start up. The cost of the liners in the long run though adds up. The only nice thing about them is that it cuts down on your washing to an extent.

We used the Evenflo glass bottles from BRU. At first I was worried that they would break, but they didn't --they are very thick glass. The benefit to me is that I know glass is safer than plastic; even BPA free. Second, they are very cheap and readily available. I know this wasn't really part of the question in your post but I would highly recommend them.

Honestly, your twins may decide what bottles you use. We had Born Free, but I had to use the Playtex nipples w/ Maya. So for awhile we had to use bottles I did not want to use. Then. when the Dr. Brown's came out w/ BPA free bottles, I discovered you can use playtex nipples w/ Dr. Brown's bottles so we did that.

Have you looked into the Dr. Brown's bpa free bottles? I love them!

We use both, they are the only ones we use. At first it took a little bit for them to get used to the MAM nipple becuase it's not rounded, it's more like an oval. Also, the bottoms unscrew and if they aren't put back on right they can leak wich obviously is annoying. Otherwise, they are fine. The Born Frees are fine except I hate that extra insert thingy...only because I'm usually holding one of the babies when I put the bottles together and it's hard to put together with one hand, lol. It's great otherwise.
