Okay, so this is my fourth child so I really should be on the ball with what bottle I'm going to use. However, with all the plastic issues lately and the fact that none of my three children took the same bottle, I'm searching again.

What bottle have you decided to use? I hope to nurse but will be supplementing when I go back to work.

My babies are most likely going to be preemies in the NICU, so I figure if they are too young to latch, I will use whatever our NICU offers us with the preemie nipples when I pump, etc. (I think they use Medela products.) After that, I hope to get them on the breast and also pump and serve in one of the safer alternatives.

All my singletons hardly took the bottle (it was easier just to breastfeed for me), but we did use Avent then.

I'd like to see other moms' suggestions on this too!

well.. after researching all the BPA stuff.. I decided to go with a bottle that just happened to be the cheapest one out there.. we are going with the clear gerber bottles. in the NICU here they use the gerber preemie nipples and these bottles came with the same preemie nipples. I paid $2.50 for 3 bottles.

I should mention that I plan to breastfeed mostly but want the babies to take bottles so I can get help when needed. We might have gone with a different bottle if I had intended to use them more.

I am planning on using Playtex Ventaires...I have thought about glass, but I don't know yet. I'm also curious to see what everyone else is planning on using.

We used Avent and Dr brown with the boys and sometimes Ventaire, I am planning on using Ventaire with this baby.

Are the Ventaire BPA free? They didn't used to be, unless they changed. I will either use Avent Tempo (drop ins) or Born Free bottles, probably a combo of plastic and glass.

I plan to use the Playtex disposables. I believe they are ok. My DD loved that bottle.

I would be careful about buying too many bottles before your little ones arrival. I went out and bought a TON of Avent bottles (definitely on the expensive side) before my girls came home and neither one of my girls would take it. I eventually got the Dr. Browns bottles and they worked great! GL!

We're going to use either glass bottles or BPA-free bottles, whatever they will take.

Here is some info. from a sticky in FY about BPA. It talks about bottles and sippies, that are BPA free, so check it out.

I also would be hesitant to buy too many bottles, you never know what kind of nipple they will take as well. My oldest DD would only take a orthodontic nipple, while my twins took a regular gerber nipple.

I liked the Dr. Brown bottles with my DD so I plan on using them for these two also.

I bought the Playtex Drop-ins. They are BPA free. I have 4- 4oz bottles that we'll start with to see if they like them. If not, then I'll figure it out. I'll just try buying one bottle at a time to see which they like. I plan on breastfeeding, so I don't plan on using a ton of bottles. We'll see how it goes. I heard by the end of the year most bottles will be BPA free.

I plan to breast feed but when I pump I will use Born Free. I have plastic and glass. All BPA free. Expensive though.

I am using the Playtex with drop-ins. We used them with my son and I LOVED them. They are much easier to clean and you can recycle the drop-in liners :) They are BPA free, too!

Can you use the liners if you are using formula??

yes, you can use the drop ins with formula or breast milk. My DD really loved those bottles. They are still in great condition. All I need to do is buy more of the drop ins. Plus you don't have to keep washing so many bottles.

Started w/ the high end Dr. Brown's and then the whole BPA deal came out so I went to Walmart and bought the 3 for 2.97 'Parent's Choice' and they ROCK! Cheap, no BPA and cute! I use Dr. Brown's nipples however!! The boys are just used to them and I already had them! The crazy part is-- cheaper bottles have no BPA it's the expensive fancy ones that have it! Go figure!

I nursed but used Avent bottles when I pumped. I HATED washing bottles and having to have 15 of them laying around so I eventually switched to Playtex drop-ins and use the silicon nipples. They actually seem to have a nipple that is closest to the real thing IMO and soooo much easier to clean up.

I used Playtex drop ins with my son for both formula and breast milk and they worked very well. I plan to use them again with my twins. One word of warning about the Avents... I have heard from several people (and had the experience myself) that they start to leak after a few weeks/months. A pretty expensive mistake! :(

I used the playtex drop-ins with both of my children and I really like them. I plan on breastfeeding if I can like I did with my other 2 but when I occasionally needed/need a bottle this is what I plan on using.

When they were tiny we had a horrible time finding bottles they would take other than the disposable NICU nipples. I bought at least 4 of every kind of bottle they sell at Wal-Mart, Target and Publix. We ended up with the Gerber NUK bottles even though they had BPA because those nipples wouldn't fit any other bottle. Now that they are bigger and sucking better we are using the Gerber Clear View (cheapies!) with the Dr. Browns nipples.

I've been using the Playtex Drop-In's with my two, and haven't had a problem. It also saves on cleanup in the middle of the night when you're so tired that you're feeding with your eyes closed! To save a little money, I've been using the Target brand liners - they are a couple dollars cheaper than the Playtex brand, and work perfectly.

We used gerber clear view as well.

Why buy expensive bottles if you do not need to? We started with the Gerber ones and they liked them from the start. When the reflux got bad, we tried Dr. Browns and they didnt like them. We went back to the Gerbers.

Now that I look back, I am so happy we went with the gerbers as I know they were BPA free. Now we only use sippies!

Not sure if someone mentioned this because I didn't read all the posts, but I just read online that all the Medela bottles are BPA free. That is what we ended up using mostly for my son since most of the time I'd pump into them and then he'd have them the next day. He seemed to prefer them over the Avent bottles we had anyway. Hopefully my twins will take to the medela bottles also. That way I don't have to have a set of pumping bottles and a set of drinking bottles!

We are using the Haberman bottles that Medela makes. They are really expensive so we have one for each baby but they work great for encouraging nursing and making them work to get the milk out.

I pumped for the girls and we used mostly the Playtex Drop-ins for the first few months. At 2.5 months, we switched to the Podee Hands-Free Bottles and loved them. The bottles are not BPA free though so, if we used them again, we'd just get the feeding kit (basically the all pieces minus the bottle part) and then get some BPA free bottles to use with them. I loved the Podees because they allowed me to hold both babies in my arms while feeding them. They were also wonderful for road trips, at restaurants, and in the stroller.

Although we hope to breastfeed ASAP, we have bought some glass bottles (Dr. Brown's and Evenflo).
