I've been using the ventaire and gerber bottles, and just threw out a whole bunch of them because I could not get the residue off of them.

I keep trying to check out the bottles with the disposable liners, but can't seem to find what is good. Are they much more expensive? Does anyone recommend I start using them (now, at almost nine months)? Does anyone have a link where I could see them? Which brands are there? Just playtex? What are you happy with (for those who use them)?

Also, how many bottles do you have in all? I feel like I have hundreds!! People who see my kitchen think I have at least quads!

And, when is it time to dispose of the bottles?

    Thanks!

I use Dr. Brown's and love them as well. I rarely have trouble with residue and they have a piece that keeps the bubble problem to a minimum.

I agree with pps. We love our Dr. Brown's. I nurse and then give bottles usually once to 3 times a day. I have 9 bottles that we feed from and a whole bunch of the little medela ones to pump in to. I rather have too many than too little.

We have always used playtex dropins. I love not having to wash the bottle part.

I switched from Avent to Playtex drop ins around 4 months. I got tired of washing all those bottles! Target makes a store brand drop in liner that's about $2 cheaper than the playtex brand liner. Works just as well. I have about 10 bottles total but I could get away with 6 and my babies are taking 5 bottles a day. I love not having so much to wash since we don't have a dishwasher. I wish I used them from the start.

I decided to use Avent bottles with the twins since I found a huge lot (30+ including dishwasher caddies, various size nipples, etc.) of them at a twin's club sale for $30. For the most part, I'm very happy with them. The twins are really good babies so who knows if they bottles give them less gas or not. I put all my bottles in the dishwasher and run it almost everyday. Even if we did have more bottles, there isn't any more room in the dishwasher! They occasionally do leak if the lid isn't screwed on right, but otherwise no problems.

For Noah, Dr. Browns. For Jacob, Playtex Ventaire. The Dr. Browns never have a cleaning problem. I have had problems with Ventaire and had to replace them from time to time.

We used Avent bottles and were very happy with them. We had about 20 of them and washed them everyday. When residue was a problem we boiled them and problem went away. Another great thing about Avent is that now that we have transitioned to sippys, Avent uses the same size rings for sippys, so you can interchange rings, and nipples/spouts while you train them. It made the transition super easy for us.

I use Evenflo glass bottles and I love them because they get so clean. I had a hard time finding them but I'm so glad I took the time to search them out.

We tried them all I think! But the ones the girls liked the best were the Dr. Brown's. I'm trying to get them to take the playtex vent air ones, but the milk comes out faster than the Dr. Browns, so they are not taking to them great. There are some feedings they do ok with them, & then others where i end up switching the milk to the Dr. Browns.

Avent has a new disposable system called Tempo. My only worry with them is that the measurements aren't accurate so you have to measure the water in a jug first - and you can't really tell how much they have taken (if there's any left at the end). Other than that, they're fine.

I mostly use the new Gerber Gentle Flow bottles. They're the same as the traditional Avent bottles but they're made from "safe" plastic - not the clear, hard plastic (which is supposedly cancer-causing, but I know that's up for debate).

Playtex Ventaire's worked great for us. Neither one of mine had issues with those. :good:

We use the regular Gerber bottles. We also found that there was residue on them so we bought the bottle brush to clean it and it works like a charm. As for how many we have...I think we have about 30.

We use playtex dropins and have since day 5. I love them and the babies seem to have no problems wiht them. We had 12 but rally got by with 10 4 oz bottles. Now that we have graduated to 8 oz. dropins I haven't openned all the holders(they call them nursers.) It is so easy to just have clean nipples and the sterile dropins. I rinse the holders and give them a real soapy wash each night.

When I go out now I don't need to carry every single bottle with me. I used to carry all the bottles each with it's liner and my 8 RTF
8oz formula cans when I used the 4 oz bottles. Now I feel comfortable have a clean zip lock bag of clean nipples with clean covers and a bag of sterile liners and an empty bag into which I can put dirty nipples to take home. I also need bottled water/ boiled water, of course. So far this system works great for me and the babies.
