they say dont put child to sleep with a bottle but i give mine a bottle at bedtimeand they fall asleep then i pick them up and bring them to bed is this the same thing or do they mean leaving the bottle in while sleeping

if i am doing it wrong then what should i do so they dont get bottle rot but r still able to get a bottle at bedtime or nap time

Bottle rot is caused by liquids pooling in your child's mouth, especially while asleep. Just so you know, anything that isn't water (formula, breastmilk, juice) can cause bottle rot.

Feeding a child to sleep with a bottle could possibly cause bottle rot, but it's not common. Giving a child a bottle to sleep with and drink throughout the night most likely will cause bottle rot. It really depends on how often the liquid is pooled in the mouth. HTH!

Never let a sleeping baby sleep with a bottle in his/her mouth it will ruin their teeth. the milk gets into their gums and can cause tissue damage and riun their teeth before they come in.

I used to see pictures of rotted teeth and gum damage at my orthopedics office.

I think the dreamfeed is for the 6 mo and under crowd...I think it came from The Baby Whisperer...You give the baby a bottle at say 9 and then again at 11 for the "dreamfeed" keeping the lights dim and not talking to the baby...so he goes right back to sleep.
We did the dreamfeed type thing but I always got them up. I've never fed them laying down....either propped up on boppies or in their bouncy seats.
I have heard if you let them lay flat and drink a bottle, they are more likely to get an ear infection bc things are not fully developed as far as fluid flow. Not sure if it's true but it *sounds* true! HTH...
