I have 5 week old twin girls. We breast fed and formula feed. My husband is wonderful about helping with the girls. He is forever propping their bottles up with a pillow or blanket. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a hands free bottle holder that has worked well for you? I am also looking for the best baby sling to purchase. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You can either purchase Podee Hands Free feeding systems (Or Pacifeeder) or you can look for a bottle propper online like Milk Maid, Bottle Bundles. We had Bottle Bundles from littlewonders.com and they work great!

I have bottle bundles that I bought at a twin sale. They are great.

Why does he need to prop anyway?

My girls have been using the Milk Maid bottle props since they were born. They are the BEST. I do not like the Podee bottle system at all.

The podee is hard to clean and kind of hard for mine to use at this age BUT nothing else works when you are forced to go out in the car and don't have an adult to sit in back and hold bottles. I have two podees and I have used them about once a week on outings. I won't put my ebm in them because there is too much waste (since mine really don't like to use them but will take them only if they are starving). I put formula in them because they waste so much.

I know it is a must when you are home alone to do some propping, but the podee and pacifeeder will allow you to hold your babies instead of their bottles. They really do need the nurturing and not just the nutrition. One thing that works really well for me is sitting in the lazy boy with both of my legs against the arms, putting the twins on my legs, and holding the bottles of ebm for them to drink out of. I can usually manage to stroke their faces some with spare fingers when I am feeding them this way. I feel terribly guilty when they don't get that close bonding type of feeding, but like I said it sometimes is neccessary when you have two starving kids at the same time.
