My LO's will be turning a year old on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 26th). I love the internet for info (and this site!) but sometimes it's nice to have a book I can read or turn to for information. Does anyone have any favorites? Also, our new little one is due when the twins are 17 months old so if there are any books out there that touch on a new sibling at a young age that'd be great too. Thanks in advance!

I am sure there are books out there about adding a new sibling, I just don't know them off the top of my head.
I liked Happiest Toddler on the Block
A lot of people on here recommended 1-2-3 Magic for discipline
Another I like, it's by Elizabeth Lyons called Ready or Not Here We Go (about raising twin toddlers ages 1-4)

I have the same list as Nancy although I haven't read Lyons book yet... but it's on my list:) I'd say the Happiest Toddler on the Block might be a great first choice because 1-2-3 Magic is awesome but seems to be more applicable to toddlers that are just a tad older than mine... so I shelved it for now and will come back to it maybe in spring. With that said, there are lots of people here that started 1-2-3 Magic right away and have had success.

I loved "Happiest baby on the block" but I didn't like "Happiest toddler " as much. Obviously, everyone is different. I have read several but nothing just yet that I thought was amazing. I still can't wait to read "1-2-3 Magic".

A great book for eating is "Child of mine: feeding with love and good sense". It has a beginning section on bf but the rest of the book really relates, especially to the changing toddlers' tastes. A keeper.

I love the Elizabeth Lyons one for toddlers--Ready or Not, There They Go!

Stop Second Guessing Yourself by Jen Singer for some good BTDT strategies, but mostly for the laughs.

And Toddler 411 for actual information and strategies with how to deal with typical toddler behaviors and phases.

I'm in the middle of Love and Logic Magic for Early Childhood by Jim and Charles Fay. It's pretty interesting, and I can see how it some of the techniques could be really effective. It's for our toddler group, so I'm interested to see what the other moms think about it.
