Last week when I went to get Breena from her nap, there was a small bit (nickel size) of dried blood on her crib sheet. I ripped all her clothes off and checked her all over and couldn't find where the blood had come from. She seemed fine and not in pain, so I let it go.

Today we were at Gymboree and she started to fuss. It was after their normal naptime so I figured she was tired so we came home. Before I put them down for naps, I gave Breena a sippy with some cold water in it. When she spit a little out, it was slightly bloody. I tried to look in her mouth, but she started sobbing so I just rocked her for a minute and then put her in her crib.

I'm trying not to panic since it seems from the quick research that I did, bleeding can happen during teething but it's not that common. DH says to call the doctor just to make sure.

Can anyone reassure me by saying this happened to them? I don't think she hurt herself at Gymboree since my mom and I were there together so both girls were watched constantly and she never cried or anything like she was hurt.

One of my guys developed a blood blister when getting his uppers. I was really scared so I asked and they said "do NOT be shocked if it bleeds when the teeth pop." So.. it's fine. It happens sometimes. :)

One of my little ones has been having tiny little bleeds of and on while her first bottom molar is coming in. Freaked me out the first time I saw the blood too.

i had a little girl in my daycare class who bled while cutting her molars. On both sides it was hard to watch she cried all day those days. She had a little bit of blood there almost all day. Never getting out of hand just bloody gums. Really is was kinds sad, her parents said they went to the pedi and it was normal.

It is not common, but not unusual either. Sometimes the tooth cuts through the path of a capillary and causes some minor bleeding--nothing to worry about.
