blankets in crib

How old were your babies when you put blankets on them while they are sleeping without swaddling??

 

Ours still use sleep sacks most nights, but we allowed blankets in the cribs when they were around 10 months. Ours still use them more as loveys rather then blankets right now.

 

When mine were about 9 months I started giving them a lovey that had a blanket attached so that when we traveled they had something familiar in their PNP. But as for covering them up to keep warm, I still dont because they move around so much they just kick it off.

 

I know this goes against recommendations but mine have had blankets since they were born! We always have them well tucked under the mattress at the foot of their cots and have never had a problem.

 

From birth.

 

I've never given mine a blanket and they are 16 months now. It's b/c I know they wouldn't keep the blankets on anyway, they are wild sleepers.

 

We've always used blankets here. Even when we were swaddling [they'd break free almost always]

 

Since about 8 months old.

 

we just use the little lovey security blankets for cuddling... but its so cute, my dh will sometimes spread it out and lay over their bodies... its - what? 12" square? not like it covers much... but it was cute that he did try...

well, anyway, the babies move around too much for blankets anyway... but typically they are in sleep sacks anyway. ours are 10 mo. old.

Sometimes if it was too cold, we would stuff or wrap their legs or torso in a blanket inside the sleep sack...

 

We use sleep sacks.

 

I've also used blankets since birth. Sometimes they kick them off, but we've never not used blankets.

6 months more for security but now they're at an age where they keep them on unless they're warm!

 

I've always had blankets in there.
