OK, so I am feeling like myself after having the twins and then a doozy hits me.

I have no control over my bladder. I had been feeling it for the last few weeks when I needed to go to the bathroom to pee I'd barely make it. In fact, I had a couple of small accidents. Didn't think much of it.

But I've been sick for two weeks and I have a nasty cough. Well, this had led to enough "accidents" to where I'm now wearing a pad. It is just out of my control!!!

Is this something that is common or should I be concerned?

    It happens!

Start doing kegels. And cut out caffeine if you can. :)

Whenever I'm sick and have a cough I pee myself constantly. I agree cutting back or out caffiene definitely helps! I pee constantly if I drink too much coffee or soda. Also, make sure to go as soon as I have and not holding it. When my bladder is super full it just can't handle it and I leak over anything. I was at the mall a while back and had to go but was waiting. Well I yelled at the kids and that little force made me dribble.

bladder leaking because its full is called "stress incontinence." it is very common after childbirth because the muscles that should be holding up your bladder are weakened by labor. Kegels strengthen those muscles. also, it is a good idea to see your gynecologist and mention this to her/him. they can give you some nonsurgical options and depending on severity can refer you to a urogynecologist who specializes in this.

It will get better after like 7-9 months (if I remember correctly) if you move around alot And exercise it will get back to normal faster. But it still depends on people though.

Mine got better with time. There is a surgery you can have through a Urologist if it becomes a lengthy issue.

Aaaah. I'm going through this, too. I feel like I have to pee and then bolt for the bathroom, yank down my pants, and still barely make it. My OB/GYN didn't really have much to say about it, though, other than "it happens."

(Also, hemorrhoids...when do they get better?)
