Aside from the mess, they are just too nerve-wracking! I kept worrying that someone was going to choke.

So I took them away and gave them some puffs instead.

My kids are going to be going off to college still eating purees...

same here, I hate those things! Biter biscuits are a special treat they only get when they are at their Meme's house b/c I don't want to deal with the mess and fear of them choking!

I hate them too! I sit there and stare at them and freak out if I think they are putting it too far in their mouths. Please...as for purees...mine are 10 months old and rarely get finger foods! I have such a fear of choking!!

I gave a biter biscuit to my older DD when she was about 9 months or so and it was disgusting and huge chunks came off. I never even bothered to give them to the boys. Too much trouble.

I don't know who invented them, but I think that person hated mommas. They are messy and scary and honestly they don't look very appetizing (Mr. Hanky, of South Park fame comes to mind). They are totally unneccessary in my opinion!

I love you mommies. :) Whenever I worry that I am being over-protective psycho mom, you all make me feel more normal. :D

I don't know why they even sell Biter Biscuits. I think we went through one box ever and I only gave it to them in their mesh feeders because of the choking hazard.

They definitely aren't worth it. I bought a box but I've only given them to them twice - right before bathtime. My mom gave them to them once and was telling me about DS2 biting off big chunks. I've been afraid to get them back out since. I'm having issues with finger foods as well though - I've got gaggers and pukers and I just can't deal with that every night.

I hate them, too! I've never used them b/c of the fear of choking. I still cut my 4-year-old DS' grapes in halves or fourths depending on how big the grape is. I mean, a grape is just the perfect shape and size to get stuck!

I believe that biter biscuits are the reason the "Baby Safe Feeder" (original mesh feeder) was invented.

    Oh, yep, see below:

WELCOME TO THE BABY SAFE FEEDER BY DESIGNS 2-U

Invented and marketed by a Dad who almost lost his baby due to choking on a teething cookie . . (http://www.babysafefeeder.com/).

I'll just stick with puffs! :)

I completely agree!! We didn't even make it through a box. I'm not planning on getting any for Olivia.

I am going to be the odd one out because my kids love them and as long as I knew they were on their way to the bath they got them. I too feared the choking but they did okay with them. We don't anymore and I wish we could be on purees so they are getting the right amount of veggies/fruits but they only want finger food right now
