    Those are cute themes!

Since my girls were born in May and it was nice and hot - we had a big Luau Party with dancers. Our colors were hot pink and turquoise.

I really believe that their 1st Birthday party is more for the parents than anything else. The kids won't remember but they'll have amazing pictures of celebrating their first b-day. If you can afford it or can at least afford to splurge a little more money than usual, I say GO FOR IT! :D

I think themes are cute but I didnt use one because I had left over paper/plasticware left over from the girls' fake baptism that I wanted to use up. Then I just bought a paper table cloth, a few balloons, and big huge plastic bibs.

    I like the animals!!

We are doing Minne Mouse. I am SO excited about it. I figure this will be the only birthday where I can pick the theme, so it just HAD to be Minnie Mouse. There is a lady making my girls customized Minnie Mouse jumper/dresses to wear. I can't wait. :)

We are doing a small Winnie the Pooh party, both of the babies love Winnie and the gang. Good luck!

Our theme was #1. The cake was shaped in a #1 shape and it was just all about turning 1. Can't get much simpler than that.

We did not use any themes. We decorated with some of the kids toys and I had a friend that brung a flower centerpiece. I bought some happy b-day decorationa from the Dollar Store. We did a cupcake cake for the rest of the kids, it was a frog and it was from Brookshires. I think I am too cheap to do themes

When T and M turned one we did boy girl first b-day theme, everything was blue and pink. When my babies turn one I will probably do a more gender neutral party. I like the animal theme!

We're planning on a Sesame Street theme for their 1st birthday next month. For my older son, the theme was Nemo. I think anything bright and colorful will be fun.

    I love themes!

For my first dd we did the girl's first birthday stuff.

For my second dd we did a farm theme. We called her our little piggy (don't worry, the nickname didn't stick!) and I made the cutest pig cake.

For my third dd we did Lady and the Tramp since her nickname was Lady. (That was tricky since there was nothing available at the stores and I had to find older stuff on ebay.)

If you mix some themed stuff with solid colored stuff you can totally save money!

    Have fun.... :)

We're going to do Sesame First Birthday theme. I'm not going to go crazy buying stuff but just enought to have a small party. ( the boy's b-day is so close to Christmas! ).
I'm excited but also sad ~ my babies are growing up :(!!

We are doing the one you have linked as boy birthday. It's called "Fun at One Boy". I just ordered the stuff last night from here where it was cheaper. For me it was easier to just order stuff that will look good together and match than trying to find those things elsewhere separately. I'll still have to get some balloons and the cakes, but I feel so much more ready for the party now that it's ordered. Now if I can just get ready to face the fact that they will be ONE!

We are going to do Curious George for their Birthday party. I probably will not buy a lot for the party, just some balloons and plates with Curious George on it. I have learned from the older 2 not to go overboard they have no idea what is going on and also will not remember it.

The good thing about little parties ( for 1 2 and even 3 yr olds) is you can replicate or do similar patterns with solids. For example, we did dalmations so I decorated in black and white streamers with hints of red (balloons), black and white table clothes, plates, cups, etc.

I made dalmation invitations and goodie bags so everyone knew what the theme was. There are so many things you can do!

Here is a list of other birthday ideas:

    Crayons
    Dr. Suess
    Garden
    Bugs
Candyland (which would be really cute for a winter theme)

Here is a website that I find useful. You can click on the theme and it will give you a list of contest winners and you click on them and you will see what the mom's did for decorations, cakes, etc.

When ds1 turned 1 we had a construction themed party. I went all out. We took all of his bulldozers, dump trucks, evcavators, etc. and pace themon each table with balloons attached. On the cake table I put a huge dump truck filled with little bags of cotton candy that resembled rocks falling out of the back of the truck. We had CAUTION tape everywhere and balloons were in high supply. It was great. We always do a theme. The twins are only 6months old, so I havent thought about what the theme will be , but I can guarantee is will be cute
