My boys had their birthday party yesterday & tonight I'm going to sit down to work on their thank you cards. EVERYONE that came to the party bought a gift for EACH boy, along with a card for EACH boy. So, do I write an individual thank you from EACH boy or can I write a thank from the both of them? Their gifts were all the exact same (although maybe a titch different...like a different color or style), so doing a joint thank you would be easy enough.

    What do you do?

Good for you! I think we have only received one thank-you card ever from a birthday party we attended.

We do joint if mailing the cards and individual if hand delivering. Either way, the kids make the cards and "try" and sign their names.

When I wrote the cards, I would write one card for each gift giver. Once the boys could sign their names, I would do separates--unless it was a combined gift or identical gifts. Now that they write them all by themselves, the only ones that they both signed (ie, didn't each write one) was for a combined gift or ID gift cards.

I still do one thank you note per gift giver.

I would do one note, but include a separate message about each. Conner thanks you for the ______. He's been playing with it every day! Aiden really loves the ______. Thank you so much!

I do have a slight problem for individualized thank you notes within a card....I have no clue which gift was given to which child. My mom wrote out the info & just wrote "truck" or "books" or "pjs", but didn't specify what color & stuff. So, I'm going to have to be vague this year!

That what I will do when they begin to start learning how to write their names. In the meantime, I love getting the 'thank you photo' cards! I will be doing it again this year. I always included the cake, friends (group), and each twins into the photo (multi-photos) with a note.

I cannot wait until there is a time when they start drawing and signing their names because they are coming out with 'drawing, thank you' cards now. It'll be so cute when their friends get the card. :)

We do one for each gift given even if it's the same thing (not usually the case b/c they are b/g). If it's a combined gift, we send one card.

This is what we did last year....the photo card (seperate pic of twins and pic of cake). Everyone like that idea and enjoyed getting it.

I also do joint thank you cards. I don't really think it is a big deal. I think most people just appreciate the fact that you thought to send one.
