I am hoping you guys can give me some ideas. We are quickly approaching the big 1 year mark (sigh) and I am struggling to figure out where to have their party. I would love to have it at home but our house is way too small and way to over crowed so I need to find someplace else. I am literally racking my brain trying to figure something out. I am not apposed to something that cost money, within reason.
Any one deal with this problem? I am open to all ideas and thanks in advance for your help.

What about at a nearby park? I was thinking Georgia (this is what I thought the state flag was near your name) might still be warm when your kids turn 1. However, I'm in the North, so not really sure, LOL. I'd love to do that for mine one day. Some parks have nice pavilions and grills for bbq'ing.

Any kind of kids place with pizza is always a nice idea too.

We are looking into places to have their party at as well. We have looked at Park District rooms and our local VFW has a nice hall they rent out. We also have local pizza places that have private rooms for parties.

Parks (great idea Pamela), Community Centers usually have a rec room you can rent, or small restaurant that you can rent a room. We have something called KangaRoom or Monkey Joes (bounce houses inside) which would be better if they are a bit older but in a pinch might work if you have a bunch of older kids coming.

Thanks so much for the ideas. I live in Oregon so it is normally cold and/or raining by the first part of November, so out side is out. I will have to start checking around on the pizza idea. I had my older DS first birthday at a pizza place but didn’t look into the one I picked ahead of time and the way the tables were set it made it very difficult.

Where exactly in Oregon do you live? Close to Salem, Portland? My brother and SIL live around the Salem area. Their little boy... my adorable nephew just turned one in March. She was able to do theirs at home, but she did say the other day that it is already starting to become rainy.

I would try some community centers or I know some places have indoor play areas that they can give parties at. While you are online look up some "local party places" or "local kid's party place". You may be surprised with what you end up with. Mc Donald's is always a good one, too!

Do you have a local park district? Does someone you know live in a community where they have a club house you can rent for the afternoon?
