My nephew's birthday party is this weekend. He'll be turning two, but was born at 23 weeks gestation. I was told by his mother that he was tested in the 9-12 month range and was unofficially diagnosed with autism and cerebral palsy. She said anything to help him developmentally would be good. A couple things she suggested was stacking toys and outdoor stuff for summer. They have 7 kids, so I would think they already have all the basics and tons of hand me downs. Do you have any ideas of what really might be helpful and fun at the same time for him?

Do they have a backyard with trees? If so, how about a
Little Tikes Swing. He might like that. Or how about a water table that he can stand at and play with??

I always give the Leap Frog Magnetic alphabet set for "2 year old" birthday parties. We have a set and my girls love playing with it, and they've been playing with it since they turned 1, so it might still work even with his challenges.
