My kids both go to nursery school (they are turning 3 at the end of this month), they attend 4 mornings/wk. They are in separate classrooms, with about 13 kids in each classroom - so a total of about 26 kids in both classrooms. Most of the parents bring goody bags/loot bags for the other children when there is a birthday. I never even thought about doing this. I guess I always thought that you only did them for the actual birthday party that you host, not for every child in their classroom! which means for me I would have to do like 26 loot bags!!
Anyone have any insights into this? For those of you that have your child attend daycare/nursery school - when your child has a birthday, do you send loot bags/goody bags for all the other children?

I had planned on making muffins or cupcakes..

Liam is celebrating his 4th birthday tomorrow at preschool with cupcakes. No loot bags. When the twins were in daycare, we also did cupcakes for that.

My two just started preschool and there was a birthday party and the Mom went all out with loot bags. :faint: My plan when the kids birthday rolls around this year is to just make cupcakes.

At our preschool we just bring in the snack the day of our child's bday (cupcakes, cookies, brownies etc), no loot bags. And even if others did it, I would not do loot bags. :pardon: It's just too much!

Our preschool did not allow you to send in any food. And anything in the goody bags had to be non-edible. They would also celebrate all the birthdays for the month on one day, and the teacher would bake a cake and the birthday kids would help decorate. Since we always had a party where the entire class was invited, I never sent any goody bags in.

I did not do loot bags when my girls were in preschool nor have I done it now that they are older. I only bring in a snack for their special day (right now they like when I make Chocolate covered pretzel rods). There are a lot of parents that bring in goody bags for their childs birthday but I feel that bringing in a snack is good enough.
