We are trying to make a last minute decision about rather to have a big party for the girls or not. We don't have a lot of money to spend, so I am looking for some cheap ideas that we could pull off in a week or two. I was kind of thinking about reserving a pavilion at a local park and just doing cake and ice cream, but I was wondering if anyone else had any fantastic ideas.

We usually get a bounce house ($70) and cheap hamburger stuff from wal mart and a cheap cake from winco... Its all pans out to about $20 and we have enough for tons of people and we have a blast!

This year for dd1's first birthday, I am having a pajama party... we are having her party in the morning (10:30, but you could do earlier) and we are having breakfast snacks... little muffins, I am making breakfast pizza, and we are doing muffins instead of a cake. I thought it was cute and a lot cheaper.

We are having a backyard cookout for our girls. We will supply cake, dogs, burgers (Sam's), and drinks, and we are asking the guests to bring a side dish. We are doing it as a thank you to those people who helped out when the girls were first born. We had a lot of help from our church family. I think we'll do cheap paper plates, and etc for the cookout part and some type of party plates just for the cake to keep cost down. HTH!

You can do the pavilion and just hamburgers and hot dogs from the wholesale club. Bring some typical party games and make the adults do them, like Pin the Tail on the Donkey and Hula Hoop contests. :)

I doubt this is a good/new idea, but we are having a party at my parents house - on the deck, so hope for good weather in Ohio on Saturday. We are doing it in the middle of the afternoon around naps, so other than munchies, no real adult food. It's just family (40 folks, though), so very low key.

Have fun with it, whatever you decide!

Parents magazine had an idea for an ice cream sundae party (was it this month? or maybe last month?) that I thought was great!!!!! A couple of big tubs of ice cream, cones/bowls, and little bowls of all kinds of toppings. SO cute and colorful. And it looked really easy to throw together . . .
