How cute! I'm not sure how you would personalize it though.

Hmmm, I just thought of something. This is really large so may be I can just do this without personalization for everyone else and then for their individual cakes put a regular size cupcake in the center of a small round size cake pan and write "Happy 1st birthday" on top. then below the cupcake write their names. What do you think? So, I guess we are doing a cupcake theme....

Those are great ideas! There is a box for you to type the name for personalization on the web page. GL!

I got this cupcake pan also, as i am doing a cupcake theme for their first birthday. This cake is rather large, but I am using it as their smash cake, and serving individual cupcakes to the guest.

Just a hint: Try the pan out before the party. My first try turned out awful, ;).

As for personalization goes, I am not really sure ;)!!

Those dresses are adorable!!!!! I would agree a cake like that you should try to make before the big day. Then you can play around with it. You could just do each cake and put their names in icing and then have the smaller cupcakes for the guests and let the girls smash into the big ones!

The dresses are adorable and the cupcake cake looks like a lot of fun. I agree with PP's and try it out before the big day. I think your idea on personalization sounds like a really good one!

Yeah, I think I will try it out first. Maybe this weekend. A good excuse to have cake!

Wow, Melissa, this would be a big smash cake!

    I love Sur La Table!!!!

So, you were making the giant cupcake as the serving cake, is that correct?

Some friends just did a cupcake theme and they gave each twin an individual cupcake
to smash. Seems the perfect size.

I was actually going to make a 10 in. square cake (2) and cut them as a smaller square and do
a 2 layer square. wow, can I say square one more time??

PLEASE post a picture of the part so we can see your final products!!!! Can't wait to see
    those cupcakes and dresses!

Yeah, I was going to do the giant cupcake as the serving cake. I do have a small #1 cake pan that would be perfect for individual cakes for their smash cakes also. Maybe I'll do the #1 cakes for them but still do the giant cupcake for everyone else.

Yes, I will post pics. It's still about a month away but I'm a planner. It's not like we are having a huge party but I still want it to be special. :)

They have this pan too that makes mini giant cupcakes. A friend did the giant cupcake as a smash cake for her little boy and it was cute but huge. I found this but never ordered it and just went with the store bought cake with the free smash cakes.
