I posted last week or so about the birth of my identical twin girls....here is how it happened.

I was originally scheduled to delivered at 37 weeks, but I battled PIH/preeclampsia since 26 weeks. So at 34 weeks 6 days the MFM thought it was in the best interest for me and the babies to deliver then. My husband and I arrived at the hospital about 2 hours before the surgery both scared and excited (these are our first). We had had a really tough pregnancy which included a TTTS scare, a funneling cervix and PIH/PE which resulted in 3 1/2 months of bedrest. So when the nurse hit valves in both my hands trying to insert my IV and finally having to get someone else to do it...we thought here we go again...but lucky for us everything want great! I was scared to death of the spinal but my doctor was a great and it went so smoothly. Everything went very quickly once that was done. Once they brought my husband it was 5 minutes later and Madison Kendall came out crying. She weighed 5 lbs and was 18 1/4 inches. She scored a 9/9 apghar test. When they were delivering Madison our other twin's foot "kicked" out and then had to push it back in. Guess she didn't want her sister to leave her :D
A minute later Kaitlyn Nicole was born weighing 4 lbs 7 oz 18 inches long. She scored a 8/9 on her apghar test. We thought for sure they would spend some time in NICU but they didn't spend a single minute there. My husband went with them to the newborn nursery for more tests while they finished with me and took me to recovery. Their blood sugar was low to begin with so they feed Madison a bottle and Kaitlyn wouldn't take a bottle so they had to feed her through her nose, but just that one time. We spent 4 days at the hospital and all discharged together. I cried as I held my babies and they wheeled us out of the hospital, I never imagined we would all leave together. They are our little miracle babies and we love them so much. Their birth day was the most amazing day of mine and my husband's lives. I was so miserable doing bedrest but it was so worth it in the end!
