Birth Story! Victoria and Alexis are here!

Okay, so I was scheduled for an induction Jan. 21. Sunday the 20th we went to church with my family (came from out of town for the birth) after lunch, we went and had sushi (mine was cooked). Went home and I was very tired so, I took a little nap and woke up feeling sick. I thought it was the sushi. I had the runs and major back cramps ( I now know I was in back labor). This lasted for a couple of hours and suddenly they became very stong and unbearable. I started crying and by now they were about 2-3 min. apart and coming strong. (oh, did I mention at this time I was also home alone...everyone had gone to the groc. store b/c we were going to bbq. Well, change of plans. As soon as my MIL and dads wife walked in the door they knew. They called my husband and dad and told them to meet us at the hosp. By now contractions were 1-2 min. apart and I was screaming (I am not a screamer). With my DS I never once cried or screamed...

We get to the hosp. and had to go to triage first! But, they hooked me up and immed. took me to L&D. By now I am crying and just want it all to end.
I get to L&D and they can't give me anything for pain until they do some lab work!!!! So, while we are waiting for lab work they decide to do an ultra sound, internel exam, ask me millions of questions, try 4 times to get an iv in me! I was miserable. Finally, I get an epidural and I get all the way to 5 cm dilated and at 1:00 am they come and say we have to do an emerg. c section b/c baby b (alexis) heart rate keeps dipping, I was running a 102 fever, swollen, and had stopped progressing. The girls were out and screaming by 1:21 am. I was in recovery until about 5 am (still had a high fever) breastfed for the first time with them by 6:am. And I haven't slept since.

Girls were 6 lbs. 10 ou and 5 lbs. 15.3 ou

No NICU or anything. Stayed in the room with us. Born at 37w and 4 days.

wow. sounds like a heck of a time. glad babies & you are well. and thank heavens they all got home from the store when they did! wishing you tons of luck as you adjust to this newfound parenthood.

Great Job Momma!! :a_smil09: I have been anxiously awaiting your birth story since you posted you were going to have a scheduled induction. I can't believe they made you wait for lab work until they would give you pain meds!! Im glad everything turned out good, and you have 2 healthy, happy babies. Congratulations!! :Clap:
