    Hi -

I had a LEEP done about 2 years ago and I am weighing my options with a vagional vs c-section delivery. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am open to anything.

    Thanks,
    Nicole

My peri said you can still do a vaginal after a LEEP. He said the only concern after a LEEP would be that there is a higher chance of preterm labor, but there is also that chance with twins.

I had a leep about 1 year before I had my first child.

In my expereince it does not affect child birth in the least. My doc didn't mention pre-term labor concerns due to the leep at all. My 1st dd was 4 days late, my ds1 was 2 weeks late. My twins were taken c-sec at 36weeks and not a day of bedrest. No problems at all.

I had 2 drug free vag births ad 1 C-sec with my twins. Twins would have been vag too but my pelvis seperated and the doc said a vag birth with a seperated pelvis was not recommended.

I had a LEEP about 1 1/2 yrs before the twins were born. I was told the risk of Incompetant cervix (IC) were higher since they cut so much tissue, but that it varied from woman to woman. I was monitered carefully for IC, but though I had very low measurements, It never got worse than 2.0 or funneled....BUT I did have preterm labor and had my twins at 32 weeks. They are happy healthy 2 yr olds now!

I had a LEEP three years before my twins were born. Some of the nurses in the hosptial told me that because of the LEEP, I may never dilate all the way and would have to have a c-section. I dilated to a three and ended up having a c-section due to high bp.
    Good luck!

I had a LEEP 6 years ago and never dialated at all w/ my first DS (c-section at 40 wks). I am at 35 1/2 weeks with my twins and have had no dialating...I don't know if it is a result of the procedure, but I am just glad that my pregnancies have gone full term (at least so far w/ the twins).

Best of luck to you! ~Erin

I had a two leeps done within the last 3 years... I"ve been on bedrest for 5 weeks for an incompetent cervix and I'm having a C Section but a friend of mine had the opposite effect, she didn't dialate at all in labor and had a c section also.

I had a LEEP about 10 years ago and carried my twins full term (delivered them at 38w3d) I was induced at 38w2d and delievered them both vaginally (Baby A head first, Baby B feet first). I had to be induced because at my 38w appt absolutely nothing was going on with my cervix AND that was my first cervix check during my pregnancy.

I had a LEEP before my five kiddos. My first was born at 36 weeks but noone related it to the procedure. I had three vag births and the twins were a section but only because A was breech and much smaller than B. Don't let the LEEP make the decision for you, talk to your doc and go from there. GL!

I've had 2 LEEPs, 2 years apart, before the birth of my 2nd daughter. My OB checked my cervical length once (that I recall), and I never had any problems with PTL. When I went to the hospital in labor, one of the L/D nurses told me that they will occasionally see problems with scar tissue, and dilating problems. I did not have any trouble in the least, and had a natural vaginal delivery.

This time around, I had my cervix checked at 14 weeks (that's how we found out about the twins, actually); and then last week with the Level II. Everything looks great .. the peri said my cervix was long and closed.

Personally, I woudn't stress about it
