Not that birth control is really that necessary with two one year olds- like we have time to make a baby....
But, I've tried Orthotrycyclene Lo and it made me a raving lunatic. Loestrin made me bleed for three months straight. Any other pills or methods that you girls would recommend?

I've taken Apri for years, and haven't had any problems with it. DH got snipped, but I still take the pill right now. I like being regular!

I have the Mirena IUD and love it. You can check out their website for more info.

I took Levlen -- I don't know how it differs (if it does) from the ones you mentioned. It sounds like hormonal methods may not be right for you.

My DH is getting snipped because we are sure we don't want more. I hated being on the Pill when we hardly ever DTD anyway, but we didn't trust any other method.

Oh, that Orthotricyclene Lo made me a crying raving lunatic as well! Bad thing was that I did not even know that my doctor switched me (this was about 10 years ago), so I just cried all day, and I had no idea what was going on.
Has anyone tried or trying the pill that only allows four periods a year? I have not been on any BC for about 9 years...I just have a hard time being on them. But, after the twins, my Auntie Flows are ridiculous- extremely heavy and about 5-8 days long. I am so tired of it, and the hormonal changes that happen the week before, which leaves me with maybe two weeks a month feeling like myself!
What about the mini-pill? I was just reading that it is Progesterone only, not Estrogen. Wonder how long you can stay on it? I think my DH is going to get snipped by the end of the year, so I am just looking for something to tame Auntie Flow.

YAZ 24 is wonderful. I am an OB/GYN and this is one of the best pills around. It is expensive, but worth it!

I take orthotricyclen, not the lo, just the regular and have no probems with it.

I have the Mirena IUD as well. I only just got it this month and so far so good. I will be getting it taken out in 2011 because me and dh are going to try for baby #5 then.

I am on Levora (says it's a cheaper version of Nordette). While it's "officially" a 3 weeks on 1 week off pill, I take it for 9 weeks, with one week off (with my Dr's approval), so that's about 5 periods a year. I'm gradually trying to stretch it so that it will be 12 weeks on 1 week off, but have had problems with breakthrough bleeding (when I started trying to lengthen my cycle I could only go about 6 weeks).

I do it this way because it is MUCH less expensive than Seasonale (or whatever that one is called). I pay $10 for a 12 week supply (well, the way I take it it's only a 10 week supply) compared to $35 for Seasonale (I'm sure it all differs based on your insurance). The other advantage is that I can plan my cycle around vacations or events - depending on what I have scheduled, I might take it for 8 weeks instead of 9. I've been doing this for years . . . first asked the Dr. about it because I didn't want to have my period for my wedding!

I was using the Nuva Ring before I got pregnant this time around and LOVED it! Only problem I had was whenI would take it out after 3 weeks and immediately put the next one in to avoid getting my period...it only worked for about 2 months and then I would end up with break through bleeding. However, even with that, I would use it again in a heartbeat. You only have to worry about it once a month and you can get email reminders and stuff like that on when to take it out and when to put a new one in. I LOVED it and I've been on different pills in the past and also the patch...ring was my fave! I'm probably getting the Mirena IUD after this baby arrives...more than likely DH will get the big V sometime in the future, but we haven't talked too much about it. But, we are pretty sure there will be no more kids after this time around
