I am currently on the pill and I don't know how, but I managed to miss taking it for 4 days in a row (right before I should be ovulating). Has anyone gotten pregnant here while on the pill? I am a nervous wreck and we really are not planning on having more kids. I just don't know if there is a strong probabilty one way or the other, so I would like to hear from any of you and see if you have done something like this and how did it turn out?

    Thanks!

I got pregnant with DD#1 while on the pill. And I dont remember missing any during that time but I was maybe a few hours late with one or two. I am sure that doesnt help. ;)

Not the most comforting, but I guess I will just have to wait and see. I have been nauseous on and off the past two days, but not sure if it is nerves or that I am pregnant. I guess this is one of those things I will have to be patient and see what happens.

    Thanks for listening.

Well, either way, I hope you get the result you are looking for. Have you ever thought about switching to the patch or the Nuvaring so you won't forget to take a pill? I was on the pill for 8 years before my twins and for 2 years before this pregnancy. Both pregnancies were planned and I got pregnant the first time on the first try and the second time on the 2nd try...lol! I never even had a scare when I was on the pill, but I know that others are different.

I did the patch for awhile after coming off the mini-pill after the twins. I liked it. The only place I liked putting it thought was on my shoulder and with summer (last year) coming I switched to the Nuvaring b/c I didn't want the patch all sticking out there when I had a bathing suit on. I wore it on my hip in the back for awhile, but I kept catching my nails on it when I would go to the bathroom, so it just wasn't for me.

However, I LOVED the Nuvaring. Bascially the ring is inserted into the vag**a (DH never knew it was there when we were DTD) for 3 weeks. At the end of the 3rd week, you take it out and have your period. You reinsert a new ring after 1 week. So, it's pretty easy. They have Nuvaring timers, emails, etc. that remind you when you need to take out and reinsert. Inever had any problems with it. I will probably get an IUD after this baby is born b/c as it stands now, we aren't planning on anymore after that...eventually DH will get the big V.

I missed 3 pills once. However, DH and I were barely remembering to snuggle at night, let alone having relations, so I wasn't worried.

FWIW, I think that going off the pill in mid-cycle could potentially make you nauseous as well. Good luck, I guess you're just going to have to wait it out. :hug99:

I got pregnant with this one on the pill. It was my second month taking them and I think I missed one or two pills on the third week. I started spotting early for almost a week, got AF when I started taking the placebos and then ovulated on something like day 5 of my cycle. DH and I DTD the day AF had ended and voila!

I think this is going to be a long 2 weeks to wait to see if I start. I wish you could take a test sooner!

If i makes you feel any better, I'm in the same boat right now... I've got 2 more pills before I have my week of placebos, so we'll see... I've been really nauseous this week, and I had a little bit of spotting this morning, so who knows?? I just wanted to let you know you're not alone right now!

It is nice to hear I am not the only one out there going through this. My doctor told me not to even take the rest of the pack that I needed to wait for my period before I could start them back up. So in the meantime I am just waiting. good luck to you too -- I hope it turns out the way you want it to. I know for me, I would be very overwhelmed with more kids. the two are a handful and I work full-time I do not want to have to divide my time up even more when I feel the two I have do not get enough of me.

I wasn't the best in remembering to take my pill, but I managed to never get pregnant as a result; here's wishing you luck in that department ;-)

The Nuvaring is great, since I don't have to think about it much unless I need to take it out to start my monthly cycle or put it back in. No more spotting or other side effects that I got from the pill, since it's a lower dose of hormones. In any case, it works great for me!
