Birth Announcement: Our Girls are Here!

Our precious baby girls were born via c-section on Tuesday, March 10th on a snowy morning in Denver.

Jude Isabella arrived first at 10:46 a.m., weighing 5 lbs 2 oz and measuring 18.2 inches

Zoe Ella arrived at 10:48 a.m., weighting 5 lbs exactly and measuring 18 inches

Our Story: I was a little nervous about my scheduled c-section, but after developing the PUPPS rash the last 5 days of my pregnancy, going to the hospital was the relief I was looking for. I know everyone’s experience is always different, but I was surprised (and lucky) at how easy the c-section was and how smooth recovery has been. I was walking around the next morning and felt very looked after in the hospital. Our precious girls came out crying and had no troubles – they stayed with us in the OR, to recovery, and then roomed in with us for three days before we came home. They never had any breathing problems or anything. They are a little smaller than we had thought they would be – I guess the ultrasounds are only so accurate! They are healthy as horses though and this entire experience has been one of such emotion and amazement for my husband and I. The hardest day was coming home from the hospital – we got used to having a nurse and others who could answer questions and assist at any time – being cut loose is very scary. We stayed an extra day to catch some sleep. I would feed them, then they would go to the nursery for a couple hours before returning for feeding again. This allowed us to get much needed, sporatic naps.  Anyway, everything has been an adventure, from the recovery, to caring for real, little human beings, to learning how to breastfeed, and it hasn’t even been a week yet! Most of all, we just cannot stop staring at them and kissing them and holding them. We are so in love – I now know this feeling moms describe as “indescribable” until it happens to you. It has only been 5 days and I don’t know how I ever lived without them! Below are links to some pictures.

By the way - this post was just what I needed to see this morning. I am 31 weeks along with twin girls and have been feeling sorry for myself. All the aches and pains and thinking about the things I cannot do. It was great to see your good news and the faces of your beautiful girls. You've inspired me to keep going! (And hopefully to complain less!)

congratulations! My c-section experience was also really nice. I agree that it was really scary to be released from the hospital- I remember how I kept thinking that I wasn't prepared enough to be left alone with them. You'll learn, don't worry. Enjoy them soooo much!

Congrats! You gave me goosebumps All these good stories give me goosebumps, its such an amazing thing to see your baby(ies) for the first time. I remember from my first child, when I first saw him I said "Oh my god I love him so much!" :yahoo:
