Bilingual Resource Recommendations - DVDs, CDs, etc.

We live in Arizona, and I know that second-language exposure is best at a young age. We're doing sign language to an extensive degree, but I think we might want to give our kids at least SOME exposure to Spanish, too. DP speaks a bit of Spanish but I do not know anyone who speaks fluent Spanish (I really don't know anyone in AZ other than old friends and family members).

Does anyone have any good suggestions for high-quality language teaching tools for little ones? We love Signing Time videos for sign language, so something along those lines would be great. Please share whatever has worked for you!

 

I don't know, but my girls are learning some spanish from Dora and some Chinese from Nei Hao Kai Lan (both on Noggin). Hopefully others will have suggestions.

 

I don't know either, but your local library might have something on hand. I would like some recommendations too, great thread!

I used to have my doubts about Dora, until we met Kai-lian and my girls started spurting out Chinese!!!! So yes, Dora is good.

Nothing can replace exposure, so how about a play group with Spanish speaking families? hosting an exchange student? Spanish speaking baby sitter?

These products look good, http://www.bilingualfun.com/, but I've never used them since daycare is in Spanish here.

My girls also have a Dora computer game, and there is a BBC computer game called Pipo that comes in a wide range of European languages.
