Thanks ladies! I can't believe the girls are already a year old. Wow does time fly!!

This year has been crazy. I never though we would make it the first few months-with our sanity. We weren't expecting the girls so soon. Everything had been going great and in one night things changed and the girls had to be born. It was scary and exciting at the same time. Geneva was a little fighter and got to stay in the hospital where I was. But Gretchyn wasn't so lucky. We about lost her and she had to be revived. She then got air-lifted to a hospital an hour from me. It was the scariest time in my life. I didn't get to be with her for 4 days...but by then she was doing awesome-she had been taken off the ventilator and had been put on CPAP (but taken off the next day). Then she had to finish her 10 day round of antibiotics to join Geneva back at the original hospital. Here's my first time holding Geneva-at 2 days old. Here's my first time holding Gretcyn-at 4 days old. Here are the girls (and me) reunited at 12 days old!

At 3 weeks the girls were both almost 5 lbs and ready to come home. I was expecting their hospital stay to be at least another week or so (from what the doctor/nurses had been saying). I never realized how hard it would be having them home with a 17 month old. But I made it through. My sister came to stay with us for the first week-and would have stayed longer but I felt I could handle it after that.

The girls had another 9 day stay in the hospital when they were 8 weeks old for RSV. But since then they have been perfect.

They have grown so much. They both can stand on their own-for a few seconds. I think we have a while before they will be walking. They both can say a few words and sign a few more than that. We are working on getting them off of their formula-and I think we are pretty close. (BTW-Geneva got ahold of Gretchyn's milk and kept it down!! She can now tolerate whole milk. I don't have to buy anything special for her.) It's amazing to see how close of a bond they have with each other-and with big brother.

The first few months were a blur-but I have it all recorded-but once we got past it it's been a blast. Watching every new thing they do is amazing. I had a tough year-dealt with PPD and other personal things-but having the girls (and DS) has made it all easier.

We will be doing a party for them on January 1st. But yesterday we had cake with my mom and step-dad. I made 2 cakes-one for us to eat and one for DH to take to work. The kids and I went with my mom and step-dad to a Christmas party at my brother's fiance's church last night. I think the girls had a lot of fun yesterday-and I didn't cry once about them growing up.
