Mine are both sitting up pretty good now, I was just wondering when everyone went from the little tubs to the big ones. It would be great to be able to bath them at the same time and save a little time. Thanks!!

Right about at 11 months once they really outgrew the little transitional tub within the big tub and they were sitting up very well. I didnt want them to fall over and hit their heads on the side.

We use the regular tub from about 2 months on.. put a towel in it and laying down. When they could sit up we did individual baths.

We also moved into the big tub around 11 months.

We just moved to the big tub last week :) They love it, they splash and kick around. I waited until I felt really confident in how they were sitting, they sit up really well and have a good balance.

We moved into the big tub probably around 9 months ... they were sitting up great, but I was totally uncomfortable with letting them just sit in the tub ... so we bought those tub seats which they loved! We used them until they were like 15 months ... at which time we got rid of them, and went straight to them just sititng in the tub ... I was still nervous ... but now they are fine and super cute and they trying to flip on their bellies and swim ...

I still use a bath tub on our dining table. The idea of having to bend over to wash them is already hurting my back... I'm waiting for DD to be able to sit up perfectly before I move them... I'll probably put a towel on the bottom and wash them shower style that way.

We're using a large laundry basket of all things! We found the bath seat hard to work with, and the basket is the perfect transitional item. It works like a charm if the babies are sitting up well unsupported and gives you room to bathe them.

I actually waited until they were sitting up well and even crawling around some. Like pp said, I didn't want them tumbling over.

I want to say the same when they were sitting up well. I got a great bath mat to fit the entire bottom of the tub and the first few nights were a little wobbly since they wanted to move everywhere but after that they got the hang of it. Mine were about 6 months!

We just went to the big tub two weeks ago. We do not however bathe both of them at the same time unless DH & I are both there. One of my little guys is a cruiser and he refuses to sit down in the tub. So we spend half the time trying to get him to sit back down. But after a particularly bad splash fest that left DH, the counter, the floor and everything within a 5 foot radius soaked we decided it was time. And now they sit in the tub together most nights and absolutely love to splash, play, steal toys and listen to their own shrieks echo. It's very cute. My knees on the other hand are not thanking me in the least...

We started in the big tub around 9- 9.5 months. We could have probably done it sooner because they could sit very well sooner, but I hated the thought of bending over the side of the tub! We used their infant tub in the sink until DS was trying to sit up and crawl out of it.

We had the bath seats to begin with but got rid of them around 6 months when we wanted to bath all three together. They were sitting up ok and we just held an arm. Now they crawl around, get splashed by their big sister, slip slide all over the place - water everywhere!

we switched at 7 months as soon as they were sitting up. I have a bath mat in the tub and bath them together they seem to love to splash

Thank you all for your answers - as usual so helpful and informative. Mine our about 7 1/2 months old and sitting/crawling pretty good. They love bath time so much and I'm already bending over the tub (we put the little tub in the big one - and yes it does hurt the back and knees - putting a towel underneath your knees does help though). But, they've also just recently really started splashing, playing and trying to move around and actually try to get out of the little tub, so I think it's a good idea to have me and DH both there as someone had mentioned, if we do decide to take the plunge into big bath-hood.

I guess it's just a matter of when you and your babie seem comfortable with it. Oh yeah, and the laundry basket idea - very creative - love that. Thanks!!!

To the OP, thanks for asking this. I've been wondering about this too. I have one that sits really well, so she's probably ready. The other crawls like crazy, but it not as stable when she sits, so I guess we'll use the infant tub for a while yet.

I bought a $5 foot stool at Menards and I sit on that when I bathe the babies. It is easier than kneeling on the tile floor.

Once my girls were sitting on their own (around 6 months or so) we moved to Bath Seats in the big tub. It was much easier! Then once they were a bit more stable (since about 10 months old) I did away with the bath seats and bought a bath tub bumper and a good bath mat and let them have free roam. They absolutely love bath time now and its no longer a headache!
