Long story short, we rushed Sydney to the ER last Sunday evening(9/9) at 8 pm due to persistent vomiting and a fever of 105.1 degrees. We were there all night and after tons(I mean tons)of pricking and prodding, at 5:30 am they finally admitted her to a room. They started pumping her full of antibiotics right away and that brought the fever down pretty quickly. They then proceeded to do several tests to make sure that she doesn't have the condition that Parker has(Vesicoureteral reflux-something we have known about him since the day he was born). Good news, Sydney does not have this condition. She had a urinary tract infection and they had to pinpoint the bacteria and what antibiotic was appropriate for treatment. Sydney and I came home Thursday afternoon and she seems to be getting back into the swing of things already. She is all smiles and was very excited to see her brother.
:love0028: Those high fevers are so scary! I'm glad it was easily fixable. Three of my five tend to get those 105+ fevers when they're sick. It's so scary. It's even more scary when they are so little. Poor baby, and poor momma!
Poor baby girl!!!!!!!! I'm glad they figured it out and all of you are home and safe. BTW, LOVE the PackerBaby!!!!!
That's so scary. 2 of my kids have had 105+ fevers. Glad you found the culprit and she is now on the mend. :hug99:
How scary! I am so glad that she is okay. It's absolutely the worst, most helpless feeling when your little one is so sick. :hug99:
Oh my gosh how scary.. I am so proud everything is getting back to normal now. Hopefully it won't happen again. Missy
