    Hi there-
We are in the middle of transitioning to toddler beds. We converted the beds, but after a few days, turned them around and pushed the open side up against the wall so that we could do some more "proofing." So, my question in, for those that have used white noise machines, or like us humidifiers, did you remove them from the room during the transition? If not, what did you do to keep little hands away from them. If you did remove them, how did it go? I don't know if mine will sleep without theirs, but I know for a fact they are not going to leave it alone.

    TIA!

I have a gate across their doorway and the fan right outside it.

We installed a shelf high up on the wall, ran the cords behind their change table & into one of these outlet covers.

We put them up on top of the dresser I am a bit afraid they will somehow pull it down on top of them but so far they have left them alone.

hmmm... had to take EVERYTHING out of the room... including the bookcases and changing table/dresser that was in there and used to hold the white noise machine/clock - ugh!

anyway, the white noise machine/clock is now in the room next door on the changing table there... (junk room!) and their monitor is plugged in next door, but is on the floor at crack of the door so that it can get any noises from the room to the monitor. Sometimes we lock their door... other times their door is open but there is a gate just outside both doors that helps keep them in.

good luck! most nights ours will go to be easily, but there are times, even last night that I just had to lock them in b/c they were a little rowdy! when they are locked in they don't have much to do (nothing to climb etc) so they get bored and go to sleep easier.

Had to take everything out as well. Which stinks because no more humidifier, but they'd just unplug it and dump the water on the floor...

The same here. We have high shelves already installed in DD's room, so that's where her fan and stuff went. In DS's room, we had to install the high shelves. DD was 19 months when we made the transition, so we really spent a lot of time talking to her and showing her what she should not touch and thankfully she left it all alone. DS was 3 when we made the transition and we had the same talk and he also left that stuff alone.

We moved the tall chest of drawers in front of one of the outlets. Everything is on top of that with the cord behind the dresser. The boys weren't bad about plugs though so it wasn't an issue.

When we tried to put them in the same room we had to remove everything... Anything with a crod got pulled.

Once we put them in their own rooms we didn't need to remove anything. Good luck.

Thank you everyone! We moved the humidifier and monitor out to the hallway, and left only the changing table and beds in their room. Everything else is stuffed in the closet, which we found a lock for.

We pulled the beds out from the wall last night and they did a pretty good job. Don't get me wrong, there was party, but it was short-lived and not too rowdy! This morning, their beds had been pushed to the middle of the room, courtesy of my DS Bam-Bam
