Hi everyone! Thank you so much for the birthday wishes. I've been meaning to post our summary (and be more of a poster than a lurker) but wanted to get the pictures uploaded...

I guess this past year began when I was induced at 38 weeks, 1 day. Michael was born first weighing 5lbs. 4oz and then Peter 14 minutes later (he didn't seem to want to come out so the docs had to help him with the vaccum) weighing 5lbs. 7oz. Michael spent a few days in the NICU because he was anemic (due to a little TTTS) but then came home without any other issues. Peter who seemed fine at first, had a hematoma and developed hyperbilirubinemia. He stayed in the hospital longer for phototherapy. But, after coming home, his bilirubin was back up within a couple of days and he had to be re-admitted. Since then, there have been lots of medical visits. Peter has hypothyroidism. And, both twins have a mild to moderate hearing loss. They have bilateral hearing aids and have Speech Therapy through Early Intervention. They have been sick a lot (colds, bronchiolitis, stomach virusese, etc.) this past year, mostly because my 4-year old brings it home from preschool.

Michael and Peter were great sleepers until around 3 1/2 months. Then, they started waking a lot at night. Since they've been at the bottom of the growth curve, I was giving them bottles at night. But, for the past month, I have started to dilute them and the night wakings are fewer, if not almost gone. Thank goodness because I think I was starting to lose my mind from sleep deprivation!

Anyway, although this year has been rough for me and my family, these boys are a blessing. They are so cute (if I do say so myself) and they do the funniest things. They've started to bop up and down to music, play peek-a-boo with each other, laugh at funny faces and so much more. Michael is crawling (finally on all fours), cruising and pulling up. Peter is taking his own steps and amuses himself by doing so.

Michael and Peter had a pretty mellow birthday celebration. We had family over on Saturday for lunch. Just being around so many people at once, especially 3 cousins under the age of 4, was fun for the twins.
