    Hello everyone
I need your help. I have a small room for the boys and bunk beds would be perfect for the room however, they are too young to be sleeping in bunk beds. Right now they are sleeping in daybeds (converted cribs) but
1- they keep falling out and I can't use bedrails b/c they don't work on toddler beds
2- they are playing games with their blankies in that they throw off the blankie after being covered up and then yell, "cover up" and I think with a twin bed, sheets and comforter this will end.

But with the room being so small it will be hard to place seperate twin beds in there...any ideas?

That whole blanket thing probably won't end with bigger beds. I thought it might, but it definitely did not.

I would still probably get the twin beds but maybe get the bunkbed kind that when they are old enough you can stack them to make them bunk beds (we just got them frames no head board or anything since that would take up more space and put the beds closer together. My girls old bedroom was small (their new one is too but it's a different set up) and we had two twin beds in their old room. Basically there was maybe two feet at the most between the two beds and we could fit an armoir in there too and that was it. The girls actually liked having their beds close and I would stick a blanket on the floor between the two beds in case they fell out. I tried the bed rails but they played with them so much and it was a pain to try to change the beds with them on since it was hard to take them because of how close the beds were. I agree with the pp about the blankets they still might throw them off but I did find if you put the sheets on side ways (instead longer part goes across the smaller part) there is more to tuck in and harder for the sheet to be pulled out. The only problem with that is the sheet won't come up that high on the bed but maybe halfway which at this age is no big deal.

I know this is not particularly helpful, but someone, IKEA[?], makes really low bunkbeds with build-in bedrails.

The girls room is also on the small side and we didn't want to put them in separate rooms or clog up their room with 2 beds and dressers. So we got them captain's beds. They have drawers underneath so we didn't need dressers. They probably have about about 3-4 feet between them. They do sometimes throw stuffed animals back and forth but nothing that gets out of hand. They are a little higher than a normal twin bed, so they came with a bed rail and we got a step for each of their beds. We hunted everywhere for these and we really like them.

If you want to keep them in the convertible cribs longer I bought these bed rails for my girls cribs when I converted them to beds. I used them for about 6 months I think and then took them away to teach them to sleep wothout the rail.
