Big Babies at 34 week growth scan!

Hi Ladies!

I just wanted to share some GREAT news that we heard today! At my 34 week ultrasound/growth scan for the babies, all looks great!

Baby Boy is over 6lbs and Baby Girl is 5lbs 14oz!!!!! They are healthy and big and the ultrasound tech. said that they both have a lot of hair. Baby boy is very low in my pelvis and ready, and baby girl is transverse, lying in the lap of luxury with all the room in the world……just stretched out and comfy.

So after my appointment with my high risk ob, I went to have my weekly Non Stress Test. At this point all I do is have contractions all day and during the nst, they were 5-6 minutes apart…….so they checked me and I am 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. (never gone into labor girls, I had two scheduled c-sections so this is exciting to me!)

My ob came into the nst because of the contractions, said no terbutaline shots or steroids past 34 weeks.....and he said I probably will go into labor in the next week to 3 weeks!

I know these little fun facts probably don’t mean much to the general person, but to ME with 12-13 pounds of baby in me, being 34 weeks and after being in the hospital Monday and Tuesday of last week…..I am SOOO happy to hear some good news and hear that all these painful contractions are actually starting something.

Great appt!! I just had my 34.4 week appt today and got a scan too. Great weights!!

My OB stopped all my meds last week too because they dont' medicate after 34 weeks either.

YAY for big babies. I have over 13 lbs of baby in me too- and so ready to get them out!!! Hoping you have a happy healthy delivery!!!!

yay for big babies!!! My little girl and boy are pretty large as well but we're a couple weeks ahead.

Congrats! Hopefully our babies will be here around the same time!

don't you girls love how far long we are? My last u/s at 32 weeks showed them 4lbs. I'm hoping they get bigger fast then I feel like they are. If they didn't have DH's genes, I'm sure they'd be chubbier - as I'm overweight. I'm actually eating all this stuff and I feel like it's going to me and not them. It's not fair! I'm hoping that at my 34 week u/s they will be much improved because I don't want tiny babies!!

Don't you remember when we were like trying to just reach 24 weeks and how 34 and up seemed like a far away place? lol I have 3-4 more weeks but after this saturday, if I go into labor - i got the same thing - they won't stop it.

 

Keep going! Mine were both lower 6lbs range at 34 weeks and were born 7lbs11oz and 7lbs10oz at 38w2d! So it's possible, although quite often the u/s can be off at this stage, especially with twins, but impossible, no!!! Good job mommy!

Great job, mama! Now they just need a few more weeks to mature their lungs and get them ready for b/feeding (if that's what you're doing.).
