here's the story. curious really. Syani started to walk at 11.5 months. They're closing in on 15 months August 1st. Eve still hasn't started. She's much more content being on all fours. Eve recently has started more "bear crawling" where she's actually up on her hands and feet crawling. Lately she's been entertaining the idea of standing and trying to take a few steps between me and the endtable. You think she'll be much longer? I'm not worried about her.
Just wondered if anyone else had a big difference in their two babies ages when it came to finally walking.
I know it's hard not to compare, but here I am doing it anyway!

Same here. Logan started right around 11 months, so now at almost 15 he's practically running everywhere. Larkin on the other hand has just started taking a handful of steps at a time. I guess they just do it whenever they are ready. Logan has always been in a hurry to go somewhere, whereas Larkin is content to sit back and observe everything around her. :itwins_boys:

No, we did not have too much of a difference. Katelyn started walking at 11 months and Blake literally started on his first birthday at 12 months.

We had about a two month difference which felt huge. Sienna was about 14 mo. and Lauren when they were 16 mo. Now they are both running! :D

Grace started walking at 10 months and Elizabeth was not walking until 14 or 15 months. Grace also crawled several months earlier than Elizabeth. We were so happy when Elizabeth started walking. It made things so much easier when they could both walk.

Amy walked at 12 months (took her first steps the week before their birthday), Sarah at 14. I guess that's only 2 months, but it seemed like a big difference at the time! It really did make things a lot easier when they could both walk.

I might have the winner here with 8 months in between walking. Bea started at a week before 11 months, and Ainsley at a week before 19 months.

One at 14 months the other at almost 18 months!!

It felt like FOREVER! But my later walker has gross motor delays- but you wouldn't guess it to see her too much now!

walking for us so far has been one of the biggest gaps of time between them in regards to acquiring a skill. Arwen took her first steps at 13 months (on mother's day actually) and Lorien took her first steps at about 14.5 months. Not THAT big a difference I guess but Lorien is taking a lot longer to be steady when she walks. She's still very wobbly and will fall down several times a day. Funny thing is, she was cruising way before Arwen was :unknw: We were sure she would walk first but then Arwen just started walking one day out of no where.

Lily took her first steps at 11 months, fully walking by her 1st birthday (and she was 9 weeks early). Grace, on the other hand, will be 16 months tomorrow and no walking yet. Getting very close, but still not walking. Pedi and EI are not concerned, she's still on target for her real and adjusted age.

My DS started walking at 11 months. DD did not walk until 15 months. They have always had a difference... DS first to pull up, crawl... DD followed behind him by a couple months for all. They are starting to even out but DS can run and jump and DD has a cute wobbly run.

Mine were almost a year apart. Skylar started at around 11 months and Kerry took her sweet time and waited until 22 months.

    Best,
    Mia

I'ts interesting to hear about the difference in time it has taken for the babies to learn to walk. I too had a similar experience. I have B/G twins. They are now 3 1/2. My son began walking a week before his 1'st birthday. But my daughter had no interest. We laughed when we would see her come around the corner doing the Army crawl. Which she mastered pretty well. She finally took the plunge and began to walk on her own at 16 months. Four months after her big brother (1 minute older) decided to walk. I was so happy, but I too was not worried. It was kind of nice having one baby that wanted me to hold her and one that wanted to run all over the place.
