BFing two at once

My twins are almost 3 mo. (corrected age), and have both gotten good enough at nursing that I BF both together. But I have a hard time getting comfortable nursing both at once. I have the EZ-2-Nurse pillow, but I can't find a way to use it that's comfy for the babies and doesn't involve me leaning/hunching forward (and getting a monster backache). If I sit back comfortably, there's no room for their legs, and/or their heads are too far away from my bbs, and/or I have to hold their heads up. And there's no room to put pillows behind my back, because that would push the "legs" of the nursing pillow away from the back of the couch and create a big gap in front of my tummy. (I'm on the slender side, and there's already a gap there that I have to fill up with a small throw pillow, even when I sit forward.)

Anyone have any suggestions for positioning? Or does anyone know a twin nursing pillow that's as comfortable as a Boppy? (Boppy is VERY comfy for nursing one at a time.)

    TIA!

I just used normal pillows and sat on the couch or a bed where I had plenty of room.

I rarely use my EZ nursing pillow because of the same problem... my lazy boy recliner has just the right amount of room. I put babies tummy to tummy (between my legs) and latch one on each side and their heads stay propped in my elbow... make sense?? This is so comfy that I have fallen asleep this way several times (oops!!)

I used the EZ 2 Nurse starting around 3 months until they weaned at a year. I have a pretty deep couch and would always use it on the couch with them in football hold. I just wrapped their legs around behind me as they got taller. I also used a medela nursing stool to correctly position my legs and keep me from getting a back ache. HERE is what it looks like. It made a HUGE difference in my comfort. I also put a small pillow behind my lower back.

I used the eversotiny.com twin pillow with back support and loved it.

There are a few positions you can try too. You try stacking them...you can put them both facing the same way with one's head on the pillow and the other's head on the first ones hip. When you put the two of them in cradle hold you can kindof bend there legs behind you so they don't stick out so far forward. I also enjoyed nursing in a recliner/rocker so the sides were lifted up and if the middle was too low I put a pillow in under the front part. It all depends on what is comfortable for you guys, how chubby or/and long your babes are etc.

You need to experiement. As for the pillow since I didn't use that one, I can't comment on if it is for that reason or not but if you are leaning over you need to get them higher. Use pillows or a stool. I had a couple single nursing pillows that I would put under my feet to give me the tiny bit of lift I needed but truthfully I would use anything handy to stick my feet on. Basically the rule is bring the baby to the breast not the breast to the baby.

I know haow bad the back pain can be. I was a bad singleton nurser with my first. I bent over each time and she was always in the same position on the same breast and I always held my breast for her. By the end (14 months) I had a bad back and a bad wrist. With the twins I knew I had to learn to do it more comfortably and be able to practice more positions. Practice and experiment and you can do it!
