Better late than never..!

Hi ladies!
It's been over three weeks since I gave birth to my twin girls..but I thought better late than never for the update! I'll start with the last day I was pregnant..which was Christmas DAy! I had developed Pre-E around 35 weeks and was watched heavily from that point on. On 12-25-07, around midnight, I wasn't feeling well....my older daughter was throwing up all night and I spent several hours disinfecting everything in the house. By the time I had finished, my feet were huge and I had a headache that would not go away. So, I drove myself to the hospital while my Bf stayed home with our other two little girls.
Now my C/S had been scheduled for 12-27-07, but due to the fact that my BP had skyrocketed, my OB decided to deliver a day earlier....12-26-07. At 9:44am Braelyn was born, weighing 6lbs 13oz, and a minute later, her sister Breslyn was born weighing 7lbs! I was at 37 weeks and 2 days at that point! I could not get over how big they both were! They were both completely healthy, no NICU time, everything went well!
Our hospital stay lasted four days, instead of the normal three due to them developing jaundice on the third day. They were placed under bili lights and wore what looked like foam-shaped sunglasses for an entire day. My recovery was a little slower this time, as it was my third C/S.
So now we are home, trying to get into some sort of routine with our four children...it's been difficult, but I can say I'm looking forward to all that the future has to offer with my beautiful little girls! Also, I wanted to thank everyone that answered any of my questions or concerns regarding the pregnancy with twins, this site was awesome! AND...just over three weeks post delivery, I have lost 50 of my 60lbs of pregnancy weight!!!

And here they are, at 3 weeks!

Congratulations! What beautiful sweeties you have! Sounds like your girls are thriving and doing great! And you too. . . after my singletons, I still had 15 lbs. to lose after 3 months postpartum!

 

Awww, those girlies are precious!!!! And they're so alert ... I didn't even get a good look at my grandsons' eyes until they were about five weeks old, lol. Beautiful babies, I know you're so proud!

Congratulations! I'll also be having my 3rd c-section when I deliver my twins. This is the first time I'm scared about it. It sounds like your experience went well. I guess in my mind I keep thinking it's going to take so much longer due to scar tissue and a second baby. Did you find that it flew by like with your first two sections?

Congratulations, they are so cute. I feel awful thinking about you being so sick and cleaning up puke. That is the worst. I had pre E with my first, and you feel just awful. Your girls are gorgeous, and I can't get over how much weight you have lost. That is crazy! Get some rest, Lisa
