i need to get my kids those slip on, full coverage water shoes for trips to the beach and for running around the yard when they are playing in the kiddie pool, sand/water table, etc. i don't want to spend a lot (seems like most are $10?) but i want to buy ones that will be comfy for them and hold up all summer. any recommendations? thanks!

We got some last year at Kmart. They were great for the non-slip factor in the pool, but when they were wet they would rub their feet and gave them blisters. This year I just got them crocs to wear at the beach & to the pool and probably won't put anything on their feet in the pool.

We bought some Stride Rite Del Mar shoes at the outlet. It was about $16 which may be more than you want to spend but they were less than Crocs which is what I first was considering. The girls love these and they leave them on so I know they are comfortable! After playing in the yard I just rinse and they dry fast.

Here is a link to some on eBay:

We got our water shoes from Lands End. We have a jet ski and go to a local lake which has zebra muscles so you absolutely cannot be barefoot. I figure they'll be good for the spray park too which is sprayers over concrete and gets slippery. The kids seem to like they and can put them on themselves. So far so good. Dh and I have the adult versions and like them.

We are big fans of the crocs here. My girls where them all the time. I also just bought them some cheap Dora slip on water shoes at Marshalls for 4.99.

That is what my girls use when we are at the beach. BUT, my girls don't do a lot of time in the water when we have been to the beach.

I just bought my boys these shoes from One Step Ahead and although we haven't used them, yet, they seem really sturdy and nicer than what Target was offering. I'm just ticked because I now see they dropped the price down to $8. I paid the full $10 for them <_<. I hate it when that happens! They also have a higher-end water shoe here for $17.

I just bought these for the girls a few weeks ago specifically for going to the beach because they don't like the sand between their toes yet. We did test drive them out there and it went over great. They walked around in the sand and up to the water's edge. They really helped. I just noticed that the description was obviously incorrectly copied and pasted from another product that they have because these dont' use hook and look fasteners like the description says. They use one strip of strong velcro.
