DH and I are talking about taking a family vacation together a year from now...by then our twins will be approaching three. We are really interested in an all-inclusive type vacation (like Beaches or a Disney Cruise).

For those of you who have taken an all-inclusive family vacation, where did you stay? How did it go? I would love to hear about your experience and recommendations. Thank you!

We haven't done any all-inclusive trips since the twins came into the world. Prior to them, DH & I have gone on a cruise and also did all-inclusive to Puerto Vallarta and to Cozumel. They were all great and seemed really kid friendly. The hotel we stayed at in Puerto Vallarta was adults only. However, it had a "sister" resort next door that we had access to all the amenties as well. That resort was the family resort and I do remember the pool and amenities being very kid friendly. It had tons of families with small children. I know plenty of people who have cruised with small kids and they have said it worked out just fine. We have not been willing to be that adventrous with the twins just yet. All though, we have talked about doing it real soon.

Our most recent trip was to Destin. I would highly recommend the Destin West Resort. It is set up for families and has tons of kid friendly amenities. However, it was not all-inclusive, but it was condo's...which was nice and convenient with kids.

If you can drive to a cruise port, I think it's the least stress/most enjoyable family vacation there is. I've also found it's the most economica, we end up eating more healthy because we're not relying on fast food/diners, the staff dotes on the kids, if you choose the correct line, there's a kids club where the kids can play and you can have some alone time or time with your spouse. We've never done a Disney cruise, which is a lot more expensive than the other lines, but my girls would rather go on the "big boat" than Disneyland or anything else.

    Best,
    Mia

We took a cruise with our duo in January. They loved it and the activities on the ship for kids were a lot of fun. We were on Carnival.

We did contemplate taking a Disney cruise, and actually should have. Because our Carnival ship ended up having engine troubles, our 5 day cruise to Jamaica and Grand Cayman ended up being a 5 day cruise to the Bahamas. That's why we chose not to go on the Disney cruise, because we didn't want to go to just the Bahamas. But that's what we ended up doing anyways. My DD's are very into Disney Princess and I'm sure would have loved the Disney cruise. But they liked cruising on Carnival just fine.

We are actually leaving on our first vacation with the boys on Tues, we are going to PLaya Del Carmen in Mexico. Right outside of Cancun. We are staying at Sando Playacar. It's suppose to be super family/kid friendly with a kid's club for ages 2 and up. We will see how this goes...either a total disaster or good.
    Anyway, check out http://www.vacationkids.com/
we booked our vacation through them, they are great and very knowledgable about family friendly resorts, etc.

We went to an all-inclusive resort in Jamaica (Holiday Inn Spree) and it was very kid friendly. :good: They had three pools for kids and activities planned for them all day long. I also stayed at a Sandals resort in Jamaica (but this was about 12 years ago, but it's still there) and it was geared all towards families. Very nice, better then the Holiday Inn, but alot more $$$. Good luck!
