I'm prepping for the loooong winter here in Cleveland (it starts in October!) and will be desperately trying to keep the boys entertained. What were your favorites for this age?

My guys love the Fisher Price Baby Gymtastic Activity Wall. One side has a curtain (which they love playing peek-a-boo thru), one side has these chime looking things hanging down that they crawl under, and one side is just open. It comes with toys, but mine doesn't have them (I bought it at a yard sale for $5!!!). You can get a tunnel to go with it, which will be my next purchase. You can set it up accordian style or like a three sided cube. We have it set up as a cube with it against a wall. the boys treat it like a castle to hide and seek in. Morgan gets inside of it all the time and loves to peek out. Jonah loves to hold on to the outside and either poke at his brother or walk around the thing.

Check craigslist in your area or eBay. GREAT toy.

The Leap Frog learn and groove table is huge around here (hours of entertainment)! I also just found one of those "rollercoaster" toys that you used to always see in the pedi's office. You know, the one with the little colored wooden beads that you push around. This is also a big hit and works on the fine motor skills.

We have quite a few toys - but I have to say that their favourite "toy" is a big cardbox box that I cut 2 holes into for doorways. They stand on either side of it and bang in the top of it like a drum....they peek through the "doorways" from one side and laugh hysterically when I put my head in the box and say "peek-a-boo" - and they crawl back and forth through it. It's hours of endless entertainment!

    Their favorite toys:
Cups, small bowls, spoons of all sizes, paper, cardboard, plastic containers (put some beans in a clear water bottle), strips of fabric, balls, small boxes, string, ribbon, and musical instruments like rattles, harmonicas, and things to bang.

Right now our favorite toys are the stacking ones. Whether it be rings, cups or blocks. They are multi-purposeful. I am heading to a resale on Friday and getting ready to stock up on stuff, so I have been writing down all of the other suggestions. Thanks for posting!!!
