    Bought a used Northern cement mixer, last year.($180)

    Today, loading 2 bags, then rotate and add water with garden hose nozzle, I was getting "damp cement /concrete build-up"; in the rear portion of the drum = had to use water and screwdriver to break it out.

    Water pressure alone, won't do it.

    Went to a procedure of; Dump mixed batch, rinse drum (getting the rear clean, each time), then add one bag, then "top-off-with-water" while turning/rotating; for correct slump; then dump again. Repeat.

    {Did a 13 bag and a 18 bag pour, last couple of days}

    Any better suggestions?

    Thanks

    I’ve done a few like that and found it way easier to buy portable cement mixer instead of trying to mess with borrowing or renting one. Being able to mix just what I need right there and not waiting on a truck saved a lot of hassle. Set up on pallets, keep the bags dry, and you can knock out a few pours on your own schedule.
