We are expecting twins in a few short weeks and was wondering what everyone thought was the best baby monitor to buy. Thanks for your help!

I am due in a few weeks to and we have the Fisher Price lights and sounds. We tested it and it seems to work well.

We have the Fisher Price Lights & Sounds with the 2 parent units. They have 10 channels and we really like them. They get very good reception.

Here is a link to the one we have.

    Congrats and welcome!

We have the FP Sounds n' Lights Monitor as well. We rarely use it, since we live in a small house. But it has been nice to have when they are sick or when we are out in the garage or yard.

I posted this question on the First Year forum recently; lots of people have the FP one; but i've also read that Graco has a new digital one, and that there is a lot less interference from cordless phones, wi-fi. neighbors' phones, etc.. They are more expensive - around $90, I think.

Congratulations on your twins and welcome to TS! [IMG] Monitors work differently in different homes so assess what qualities you want (like two parent units, a light display, etc.) and then start out with a cheaper unit. If it doesn't work you can return it and move on to another style. An expensive monitor doesn't work any better than a cheaper one, it just has more gadgets. [IMG]

We had good luck with the Fisher Price Sound & Lights monitor in our apartment and house. We switched to the Summer Infants video monitor at two years old and that also worked wonderfully in our house even with all the wireless networks floating around.

My fave is the Angelcare, its a bit more pricey and for twins you would need two of them (thank goodness I still have one from my son).
There is a sensor that detects breathing, if they don't breathe after I think its 30 seconds, an alarm will go off.

It was worth it because it made me sleep so much better at night. Also we used it for even the toddler years once we put him in the toddler bed. It would go off if he snuck out of bed, lol!
