Hi. I finally think I have to get a maternity belt, and I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations to relieve the lower back pain. Some products look more like velcro straps than comfy support, some look too tight and metallic, and some don't look like they'll be big enough for the home stretch (I'm 5'2" and 45" around and I've still got 3 months to go). Any suggestions appreciated!

    HI there,

I used the prenatal cradle -- it relieved the pressure on my back when I went somewhere that I knew I was going to have to stand for a while. I liked it cause it strapped from my shoulders so it shifted weight away from my lower back.

I think it's a little better than the velcro straps.

I just ordered the belly bra. I sure hope it works! I'll let you know what I think.

just thought I'd let you know that my belly bra came today and I really like it! It has a lot of back support, and really seems to hold me in well without feeling tight or constrictive. If you're thinking of getting it, I would go up a size. You wouldn't want this thing to be tight.

I loved the belly bra everywhere except that big rubber band around the hips. It left red marks on me. I took it back. Which was a bummer because the rest of it was great. I don't think I needed a bigger size... ?

I wonder if it would be worth it to cut a little slit in the seam on the side of the band around the bottom if that's the only thing you don't like about it. It didn't bug me at all, but I can completely understand not liking a constrictive band!

I need something with straps, the dr said something about the cradle.

I'm to the point where I'm soo close I don't want to spend the money for something I might only wear another month or less.

I wish I would have invested in it earlier.

I had one that was like this

but a differnt Mexican made brand, which from the picture I think cam up a little higher on the sides. I had to have my SIL make an extension for the top strap towards the end!
I started wearing it around 20 weeks and wore it until I delivered at 35.5 weeks. I never once had a back ache and I worked (I teach college classes) unitl 34 wks.
