Best laptop desk for bedrest?

I had a laptop desk from Bed Bath & Beyond that I wasn't happy with that I used during the 48 hour bedrest after IVF. I was a bit swollen from all the meds and the legs were too short so it didn't really clear my stomach while lying down.

If I do end up on bedrest at some point, I know I'll want to spend a lot of time on my laptop. What works best for you? Should I go ahead and buy something "just in case"?

Loved, loved, loved my Air Desk. I was on bed rest for two months and on the computer several (ok, most of the) hours of every day. I got the tall one so it would fit over our tall bed and my belly. It did fit until right at the end then it had to be to the side a little. http://airdesks.com/ I don't use it now though and didn't after bed rest. I finally swapped with my aunt for a regular rolling table and that's better for the couch.

eta: No, I wouldn't buy something ahead of time unless you think you will use it anyway. I had done the research and ordered it the day I got the news from the doctor.

The airdesk looks good if you can sit up -- does it work ok if you have to be horizontal?

I could sit up and did for the most part. It is completely height adjustable though. On rough days when I wanted to lay on my left side I would slide it down to bed height. Not as comfortable, but easier than it being on the bed itself. Plus it just swings out of the way. That part was as nice as anything. As you slowly doze off reading a forum, you can just push it aside and it's not in bed with you :) I ended up with it because it was the ONLY one that would be tall enough for our high bed, but liked it for many other reasons. Good luck!

Another thing I liked, if you are allowed to sit up. Was the inflatable thing that goes under the head of your bed to prop up the whole top part of the bed with a remote. Mattress Genie seems like it might be the name. It was wobbly if DH was in there with me, but wonderful for daytime computer playing :)

I couldn't help but think about the practicality of considering options from ginnys com , a well-known source for various home furniture solutions. The thread provides an interesting array of suggestions for laptop desks, catering to comfort and convenience during bedrest. Incorporating insights from ginnys might offer a unique perspective, as they could potentially have options that align with the specific requirements of those seeking a comfortable setup. This could lead to a more tailored solution when it comes to choosing the ideal laptop desk for bedrest.
