Everyone keeps saying how I don't look like I am having twins. The doctor says I am fine and the babies are fine and its just because I have a long torso. So the babies are growing up, not out. But of course I still worry and study everyone's belly pics. I am 25 weeks and have a nice bump but all the ladies in my multiples class just are huge compared to me. Anyone else have a long torso and have this experience? I'd love to hear from you!

I don't have a long torso, but all I can say is you are lucky. I have a short torso, and at only 7-11 weeks, I'm already getting a tummy. I can't imagine myself 10 or 20 weeks from now.
I'm sure you're babies are doing great if the doctors say so.

nobody believes me that im having twins either. im 27 weeks and i dont think i look all that big. i havent gained much weight either, i think i'm up to about 20 pounds by now. my theory is, as long as they're growing and measuring fine i dont care how big or small i am!

I had quite a few doubts early on as well, even now I dont look like I'm measuring 40cm. It's because I have a longer torso as well.

Same here.. long torso, wide pelvis on the inside.. I accomodate a lot more "baby" than it looks like!! With my first dd I looked like I was 7months pg when I was 9 months..and she was 8lbs!!! Honestly I didn't wear maternity clothes with her until month 6...and I ate my heart out...gained 21 pounds, which isn't much, but isn't "nothing" either... And I'm not overweight... I'm on the thin side. With my twins I looked like what a "normal" singleton pg woman looks like...Big but not as big as a house....Most people would not have guessed I was having twins... but I sure noticed the difference... I finally understood what all those pg women were whining about!!! I will never again think a woman pg with just one is being a wimp when she complains.... I realize now I had no clue what these women went through b/c my singleton never bothered me like that... So with that in mind I'm sure I only experienced half of what an average twin mom experiences in terms of discomfort....I'm not complaining!!

I'm 5'6" and have a very long torso. Even though I feel huge, everyone tells me I'm not too. I weighed 140 at the start of this pregnancy, went down to 129 at first due to MS and now weigh 143 at 22 weeks. Babies are fine and healthy weight...so I'm there with ya!

As long as the babies are growing please don't worry. I know that I get kind of upset when people say that I am not that big for carrying twins. I really am huge though they just don't know what I looked like before. I know how you must feel but you are actually very fortunate to not be carrying all out front, more back problems, harder to lay on your side it is really miserable. :hug99: You'll probably have a crazy growth spurt in a week or so.

I have a long torso and wide hips so I looked like I was only like 7 months pregnant with one at 34 weeks with twins. Plus the girls were both transverse and stacked on top of one another. I never looked really pregnant but still had major stretch marks!

I also do not look like I'm carrying twins, I'm 35 weeks and I look like I'm carrying a singleton at 35 weeks! It bothers me sometimes but then I remind myself that the babies are at good weights and all is good with them and thats what really matters. :D

I do have a long torso but definitely look like I am pregnant with twins!! I think it is just how you "carry" the baby. I am carrying the same as I did with my singleton. I looked like I had ball under my shirt which is slowly turning into a watermelon. Anyway, I agree with what eveyone else said, as long as they are growing well, don't worry about it. People are going to give you their opinions throughout the pregnancy about how you should look or do look b/c it is twins. Get ready to ignore it. I have been told I look as though I am going to go any day and that I don't look nearly big enough for twins.

Everyone always told me I didn't look like I was carrying twins and I have a long torso. I wouldn't worry about what others say, it seems everyone always has something to say and most people don't know what they're talking about.

I get this all the time too. I'm 5'10'' and started my pregnancy at 136 lbs, then lost 12 my first trimester. I'm up to 164 now, but people still comment that I don't look big enough to be carrying twins; especially since I'm 35 weeks. My babies just had a lot of room to grow up before growing out. Right now my belly is 41 inches around.

I'm 5'7" & have a longer torso as well, plus I think a wider pelvis. Within the past 2 weeks, people are finally starting to comment that I'm 'popping out'. I definitely have a belly, but am much smaller in comparison to most belly pics & to my friend pregnant with twins. As of 24 weeks, I had only gained 15 lbs (7 of those in the prior WEEK), but the babies always measure great & my uterus always measures big (usually by 4-5 weeks).

I actually think I might be growing SIDEWAYS, as it feels like my uterus bulges out at my sides. Does anyone else have this? Yesterday my belly looked so lumpy because I had one baby up & down and another side to side with it's head (or butt) jutting out my right side. It was odd.

Some days I wish I looked bigger & then other days I realize that's silly because then I'd be more uncomfortable. I'm uncomfortable enough with my belly size now, so I'm quite happy that I'm a bit on the 'smaller' side. As long as the boys grow big & chunky, I don't care! I already have stretch marks...so bring it on :)!

Definitely don't worry. I'm 6'0 and have a long torso. I wasn't really showing at all until 20+ weeks. My belly grew pretty slowly until about 28 weeks or so and then I had a bit of a growth spurt. When I was induced at 38 weeks, I was 50 inches around, long, and poking out on the sides (my belly was wider than my hips). I gained about 45 lbs. There are lots of benefits to having a long torso- I didn't get heartburn until the end, didn't have problems sleeping, and one baby was entirely up in my ribs and I could still breathe at the end. Enjoy!

I was in the hosptial on bedrest at 33w5d and DH had pushed me down to the lobby for some ice cream (I was allowed one wheelchair trip per day...lol). We saw the lady who had done our L&D class...she comes up to me SO excited and was like "OMG, you had the babies!!!!" Um...nope, I'm still 34 weeks pregnant. I delivered at 34w1d. I was definitely pregnant, but by no means looked like I was carrying twins. I was only measuring 37 weeks when I gave birth. I definitely did not have the huge watermelon belly that stuck way out. I too had the belly that grew up instead of out. I'm 5'9" and have a long torso. I felt like I had NO baby below my belly button, it was really weird...they carried very high until the last couple of weeks when Reagan decided to push her head all the way down and sit at -2 station...that was lovely! But, Morgan (who was breech) had her head up in the middle of my rib cage where I could always feel her moving it around...it was a little creepy...lol!
