I have been having pain on and right around my belly button for a few days now. It is sooo sore! Even my clothes hurt. I know that your stomach can hurt from time to time...with your skin streching but is this normal??? It seems to be worse as the day goes on and I guess its from eating during the day. Should I be concerned, is anyone else having pain like this?? HELP...

One more thing I am a little concerned about is fetal movement, I am almost 18 weeks and still have not really felt anything. I know it varies on a million things but I am just so impatient. I do from time to time feel little nudges but nothing else. When did you guys feel movement on a regular basis? Thanks!!

i haven't had the pain with the belly button, sorry, though with my singlton it did feel like someone was occasionally pulling on it from the inside.

As far as fteal movement, i was the same way. i would feel little things here and there, but nothing significant. At 19W i thought i felt a good kick during my u/s and the tech said " no, that was a BH contracton. i saw it on the screen ". LOL. At 20W i was feelig one baby now and then but not the other, and now that i am 22W i feel both of them all the tme, every day. The kicks arent hard, but they're definatelly moving and probably vying for space. Don't worry. You will feel them soon enough.

Yes I remember that. It was just as you described with a little burning, too. Eventually, I developed a hernia right at my belly button 20 weeks. It has a special name, but I can't remember it. My OB said it would require surgery to fix, but since delivery, It seems to have cleared up. You probably don't have a hernia, I just thought I'd share.

About the movement, If it's your first pregnancy, it is hard to detect movement early on, be patient!!

Not sure about the belly button pain, but I didn't feel either one of my babies until 19w exactly. Hopefully you'll feel it soon!

I had belly button pain too! I thought I was the only one in the world. I ended up with a lovely stretch mark above mine - I think the skin was sort of weak due to a piercing I used to have there (back in my wild and crazy youth).

I was about 20 weeks before I felt true, recognizable, undeniable movement, I think.

Not sure if this is relevant but I have a very long torso.

I was anxiously awaiting to feel movement starting at 18 weeks. I did not feel solid movement until 25 weeks! My doctor said I had anterior placentas which is why I probably couldn't feel a lot. When I would see the U/S those babes were moving constantly and I didn't feel any of it. Now they are a couple pounds each and I rarely feel that strong kick folks describe, but I do feel frequent movement throughout the day, and I feel it more when I sit still and focus on it. I just love it. Sometimes though, something is up in my right rib cage and I can't find a comfortable position! :) The movement is coming. I can't say don't be overanxious because I sure was, and of course all of my friends and family were asking if I felt movement yet (starting at like 14 weeks!) which made the waiting almost unbearable. Hang in there. :)

I am almost 27 weeks, and have a sharp, piercing pain in my belly button area periodically. My belly button "popped" this weekend, and it is bluish in color now (likely from a vein running behind this). It's all part of the stretch for me, and I am not too alarmed. I start the morning able to pick up some items off the floor (why do so many things seem to fall when it is hardest to pick them up???), and by the evening I am so "fluffy" I cannot help but feel the strain from the fluids I have ingested all day. The only thing that makes me feel better, just to lie down with a bean-filled pillow under my belly. After that, it is sweet relief.

This is my second pregnancy, and I thought I might feel the babies much sooner, but it truly did not happen until after my 20th week. When it does happen, it is amazing. I can tell which little girl is moving too!

I definitely had belly button pain, just as you described. I told my doctor about it, he wasn't concerned at all. I even had a little bruise around it for a time. For movement, I felt little blips but like you was impatient to feel real kicks. I think they started for me more around 22-23 weeks and now they kick all the time, which is kind of distracting when you are in a meeting.... Its fun, I can tell who is who. I'm 28 weeks now. Enjoy it!!

I haven't had any pain around my belly button, but it has kind of half popped. The top part is sticking out and the rest is still flat. I'm not sure if that is babies or just the way my belly button was shapped pre-pregnancy. This is also my first pregnancy and I felt the first little flutters around 16 weeks. No one could feel them if they put their hand on my belly. Somewhere between 20-22 weeks I felt kicks. Those you can feel if you put your hand on my belly. Baby A is transverse across my lower abdomen, I don't feel her move as often. She has nestled herself in and seems quite happy there. Baby B is my active girl who I feel the most.
