If my twins don't come on their own before then I'll have a planned induction on June 8th. I know everyone has difference experiences in labour but just wondering if anyone else was induced and what it was like, how long it too, did it work etc.? Thanks!

I was induced with my twins (and my singleton too). The twins' induction was about 6 hrs. from start to finish. Once they inserted the prostaglandin gel, I needed nothing else to get my contractions going. That was not the case with my older DD (I needed 2 doses of gel with her along with pitocin). I got the epi. when I was about 5 cm. and within 15 mins. I had gone to a 10 and they were telling me not to push b/c they had to get the team and Dr. ready in the OR (just in case). I had no complications. About 2 pushes for baby A and about 4 pushes for Baby B. It went very smoothly and I have no complaints. Best of luck to you!

I've had 2 inductions and one natural. Natural is definitely much preferred by me so I hope yours come on their own. I was induced at 37 weeks with the twins only because of pre-e (otherwise we were waiting for nature to take its course). It was a 24 hour ordeal. Both babies were born vaginally but needed forceps and a vacuum to get out (I really think it's because it was such a long process and I was on magnesium sulfate that makes you feel like crap so I didn't have much energy left). Becca was also induced at 40w4d and I delivered 20 hours later at 40w5d. She was forceps, too, but because she was GINORMOUS. In both cases, my body really wasn't ready to deliver. That's why I think it took so long. Sam came on his own, thank God.

I was induced with the twins. Mine took a long, long time, but I don't dilate very easily. From start to finish it took 17.5 hours (and I was 3 cm when I checked in). I got the epi when they broke my water and things got faster after that, but still took about 3 hours to go from 5 cm to 10 cm. Oliver came with 6 pushes, but Edmund was transverse and they had to turn him. By the time he was maneuvered to vertex position, my cervix started to close up. So pitocin had to be administered again. Another 4.5 hours (on the dot) and Eddie was born with two pushes. I was not in pain, it was all right.
Good luck! You should do well.

I was induced with the twins. I was in labour for 21 hours and then we ended up doing a c-section. Both babies were head down but they weren't budging. However, the 21 hours that I was in labour it was nothing. I didn't feel a single contraction until the VERY end and even then, I felt the pain in my shoulder blades and not in my belly....weird, I know.

I was induced with my first son. It took 13 hours start to finish. The contractions were much stronger than if I had gone into labor on my own but once I got an epidural I didn't feel them anyway.

So smooth, so fast, no pain! I arrived and was already 4 1/2 cm dialated (had been 2 cm since 32 weeks without going into any sort of labor). They hooked me onto Pitocin at 6 am, got to 5 1/2 cm, broke my water around 8 am, place epidural and at 10.32 and 10.36 am they were born ... They were big, but my oldest was big too so that definitely helped (her labor started natural and was very long, 28 hours).
