Everything has gone so well with this pregnancy - no sickness, no problems, a few days of uncofrotable sleep but really, I've been very fortunate so really I shouldn't complain but... I have an induction date of next Friday, 1/26 and according to the OB I can deliver vaginally. Now last week out of nowhere, I get a hemmorhoid (YUCK TMI I'm sorry!) and I'm really freaking out because if I have to push 2 babies out I'm sure it's going to get worse and there's going to be a hemmorhoud party in my pants that I am not looking foward to!

I'm really weighing my option to see if I should ask for a c-section instead. I don't even know if that is an option and I'm dying to talk with my OB about it but their office is in the process of moving and she and I have been playing phone tag the last 3 days.

Can you ladies give me any feedback if you've ever had a c-section or if you've gone through both vaginal & c-section, which was better? Keep in mind I have these lovely unwanted friends hanging out down there!!!!! [IMG]

personally, i'd take recovery from a 'roid over recovery from major abdominal surgery ANY day! i got one at the end of my pregnancy and it did get worse with my delivery. but by the time i was fully recovered from my pregnancy and delivery, it was also "recovered" with the help of some prep H and tucks. and...remember...they don't call them TUCKS for nothing [IMG] GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

I don't have experience with either "yet", but I would have to agree with the pp about recovering from a hemroid vs major abdominal surgery. Plus, I'm sure maybe the hospital can give you something extra strong if the hemroid(s) are that painful. Good luck either way!

I agree... don't let that stop you from doing a vag delivery.. there is so much in pain relief available today... and after you have your delivery they give you a lovely numbing spray to use which would probably help with your secondary problem as well... I had to have a c/s with my twins due to position...and the recovery wasn't fun... my 3rd degree tear with my first dd wasn't fun either...but long term issues are much, much less with vag delivery...no possibility of internal scar tissue causing other issues..

I have a similar issue. I have had pretty bad...As DH & joke about it "Roid Rage" even before pregnancy. I'm actually very uncomfortable because of them & I had the wonderful Rectum swipe for Strep today too. I still plan on delivering vaginally. I plan on an epidural & figure that even with all the pushing I'll be doing I won't have to worry about Roid Pain.

I feel for you,I had a bad hemmoroid problem with my last pregnancy. As soon as she was born(all 9 lbs 4 ounces of her)they got better. It was such a relief because all of the constant pressure on them was gone.Good luck!!Love the names by the way!

I wouldn't let it stop you from attempting vaginal if everything else is in order. The nurses were always checking me for hemroids and they did provide me with Tucks should I need them after delivery. With all the pressure you feel in delivery I honestly don't think you will even remember you had/have one and it can be effectively treated after delivery. Nothing like the nurse asking you to roll over so she can check your bum, ahh the joys of childbirth!

Don't fret. I had my first baby vaginally (8 years old). Then with my twins (2 1/2 yrs), they induced & I ended up delivering one vaginally & one c-section. Honestly, the section wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined & having one baby each way wasn't as bad as it sounds. As for the "H", don't fret that either. I don't know anyone that walks away from prenancy/childbirth without at least one. Tucks pads are great and so is the cream called "Hemmorid".

I think all of the benifits of vaginal devilery far far outweigh the cons of a c-sect. Both for you and the babies! If your doc gives a thumbs up for the vaginal delivery go for it.

Good luck, your butt will heal. Plus, with two healthy babies who will have time to worry about a little pain in the rump?

As someone who's done both, i definately vote 4 the vag delivery! As long as it goes well 4 the babies, this will be a much easier recovery 4 you, and believe me, you'll want to feel better asap with newborn twins! good luck, you'll b fine!

Thank you all so much for your feedback! I do feel silly thinking that a serious surgery sounds better than my little "extra friend" down there. I'm just so miserable, but if my OB still says yes to vag delivery, I'm going for it!!!

Our last weekend before we get to meet the girls... so much excitement [IMG]

I have done it both ways - c-section just 2 weeks ago so it is fresh
in my mind! while the c-section itself was not that bad - the recovery is much worse than the recovery from vaginal delivery and the hemmroid put together! and that makes it hard to take care of two babies. two weeks later - the bad pain is gone - but I still feel like I have been hit by a train!!
