Hi I have been posting how much better the babies have been doing but avoiding the formula question. My daughter has reflux and is on previcid for it. The problem is she is still spitting up A LOT!! I tried enfamil AR and she spits up tons anyway, but chokes more on the spit up. I tried prosobee and not only did she spit up, she was constipated along with it (I wiuld cry along with her when she tried to go). I tried adding rice cereal to the bottle and where it helped the best she would still spit up quite a bit. I tried the good start and it tore up her belly. Se is gaining weight but not as much as her brother who is on regular enfamil. Any ideas on formula to use? Will your suggestion make her constipated? How long does this tend to last? O

Alimentum was the only formula that worked for one of our girls. She was able to switch back to a lactose-free milk-based formula by about 6 months old, but it really was a lifesaver in those early months!! :grouphug:

Yeah alimentum + prevacid. My daughter was on neosure then she got worse on similac RS. Her doc said similac RS just worked better without meds. So we switched her to alimentum.oh she has 2 bottles of alimentum the rest is breast milk. She is doing wonderful now. GL!

I was going to suggest either alimentum or nutramigen. It could be that the dairy and/or lactose is too hard on their tummies.

My kids had painless reflux though, and no meds or formula stopped the spitting up.. they just had to grow out of it. It sucked, but they did eventually stop and our house didn't smell like barf anymore!

Our boys are on Nutramigen due to reflux and dairy intolerance, plus Prevacid (which we are in the process of weaning off of). We have never had trouble with constipation - my understanding is that that is typical with Nutramigen.
