Hi All! About what time did you put your babies down when they were about two months old? We're still on a flexible schedule with the boys, but we've moved back their bedtime. They were going to bed between 9:30 and 10:30, but I noticed over a few days that they were starting to go to sleep and sleep hard starting at about 8:00. We tweaked their feeding a bit and gave them their last bottle at 8:15 last night (after PJs, etc) and then put them down in their cribs for bed. They actually didn't wake up until 2:30 am. Quite a stretch - too bad I didn't take advantage of it and go to bed myself at 8:00, ha ha! Tonight, we started their last bottle before bed at 8:30. Anyway... I'm just thinking that 8:00ish might be too early for 2 month olds, but then again - if it works for my kids maybe it is what it should be for them.

I was just wondering what other folks experienced at this age. Thanks!

I didn't have any bedtime for my boys at two months. We just started in the last few weeks with a bedtime. There bedtime now at a little over three months is between 7:00 and 7:30. The earlier they go to bed the better they seem to do.

I started doing a 'bedtime routine' with my girls at 6wks. They have been going to bed 7-7:30 since then. They also started sleeping longer stretches at night at that time too.

Well, both my twins have their last bottle at about 9ish - 10 ish. DS sleeps through but DD still wakes me once or twice a night to be fed. As you can see, I dont have much of a schedule/routine......:( I try. lol.
( they are 10 weeks old today)

We started an earlier bedtime around 9-10 weeks here....same as you - I noticed the boys were getting really sleepy around 7pm -- so that became their bedtime - and has been ever since. I following your LO's lead as far as bedtimes go is a good idea -- if 8 works for them -- then go with it!

I have always put all 3 of mine down at 9 PM, after their bedtime bottle.

Katie slees all night with that schedule and has since she was 1 month old.

At that age we really didn't have a set bedtime, bedtime was as soon as we could get them to sleep. I think you have to just play around with it and see what works for your babies. We did usually start their bath and bedtime routine around 7 and then try to get them to sleep as soon after that as we could. Shortly after that we bumped everything up an hour and by 3 months they were going to bed by 7 because like you said they started getting really crabby and we ended up trying to give screaming fussy babies a bath.

My guys' bedtime is 6 pm on the NOSE! They BEG to go to bed when the clock strikes 6! It's crazy!! Both of them (Identicals) are all for the 6 pm bedtime. Lights out!! LOVE IT cuz it leaves me plenty of time to do stuff for me!!! They started this (not us), we just followed t heir lead!!

I didn't have a set bedtime when they were that young, but IMO, the earlier the better. My babies now have a bottle at 6:30 and are usually in bed by 7, they sleep until 7-8 the next morning (usually with an early morning bottle) and life is grand!! And way to go for having them in cribs that early, I just in the last 2-3 weeks got mine sleeping in the crib, it was quite the challenge!

What is the window between the last nap and bed?? We feed them at 3:30pm and then they nap around 5pm, and then we feed again at 6:30pm and 10:30pm. They don't wake up much during that time- except to feed- so I feel like they are going to bed at like 5pm but I don't know how to keep them awake after that 3:30pm feed. They are so tired. They won't last until 6:30pm for bed.

my girls don't want to go to bed until 10 or 10:30! they're last nap around 6pm only lasts like 20 minutes, then they're up and playing the whole time. i don't know howt o change that.

I'm with you! Mine don't go to bed until 10ish. And to make it worse, they are still waking up at least twice a night.

All these postings are depressing me! Am I doing something wrong??? I've got a bedtime routine and I don't let them sleep too much during the day, but they still go to bed at about 10ish, then wake up at about 2:30 and 5am. I would give anything to sleep through the night :( :( :(

You aren't doing anything wrong! We didn't have a bedtime routine until between 3-4months and it wasn't until 4 months that they dropped one of their 2 night time feeding (started sleeping from 12-6am).

When we did start a bedtime routine, I put them to bed after their 8 pm bottles..

Oh, mine still wake up to be fed at night, too! They were soooo tired between 8:00 and 8:45, I decided to try putting them in their cribs at that time instead of later. They still want to sleep before 8:00, too after their 5-ish feeding (we don't have a strict schedule, just routines). I think I'm just starting to have anxiety because I'm starting back to work a week from tomorrow. I have to fill out all of these forms for the daycare about when they eat, etc., and I don't think they'll accept - "Feeding times are a moving target". The boys are going to have to get up at the same time everyday, so I was thinking that it might be better for them to go to bed at approximately the same time every night. I'm so stressed out and have no idea how this is going to work. I want them to be happy, healthy, and well-rested.
