My 18 month old daughters have been having some sleep issues the last couple of nights. According to my mother I put them to bed too early. They go to bed between 7 & 7:30, which I think is a resonable time for kids that age. Am I wrong?

What time to your kids go to bed?

That sounds pretty reasonable to me. My kids go to bed at 7pm promptly, wake at 7-7:30am & take 4 hours worth of naps during the day. Are they napping good? Are they waking because they seem hungry or just want attention? I've heard of some children going to bed as early as 6pm! Just some little tweaks here & there is all that is needed to get back to STTN.

My girls go to bed at 715 and sleep until 7ish in the morning. They take one 1.5-3hr nap after lunch.

We just had a rough week pass as well, maybe its a phase.

I hate to say it... but don't listen to your mom. Mine said the same thing; that my girls go to bed too early. But they've always gone to bed at 6:45 and it works for us. As they're getting older, we frequently stretch bedtime until 7pm and sometimes they don't fall asleep until 7:15. They're usually up sometime between 6:30 and 7:00am.

Edited to add: We had some sleep issues around 18 months, and then some more about two weeks ago, but every time it's just a phase and P & C go back to sleeping from 7pm - 6:30am.

My guys go to bed at 6:30 and wake up between 6-6:30. They nap for about 3hrs during the day.

Whatever works for you and your family is the right thing for your girls!!! Mine go to bed later (between 8 and 8:30), but every family and every child is different.

Mine go to bed at 9pm, but they don't wake up until 8:30 - 9 am. Neither do I BTW. We are not "morning people". When they start some kind of school program I will start getting them up earlier and shift their bedtime accordingly.

My two go to bed at 8:00pm. We switched them at 15 months. We figured it was a good time to do that after talking with friends who have kids around the same age and now they sleep in later, which works out better. They adapted right away!

Mine go to bed at 6:30 and for the past few days have been sleeping until 7:30  . Usually they get up between 6:30-7:00. They take one nap that lasts anywhere from 2-3 hours.

I think they're sleeping longer because it's getting nice out and I've been letting them play around outside.
